F1 Belgian and Hungarian GP 2026 Special Liveries and Helmets: Esteban Ocon's Spider-Man Helmet Leads the Double-Header

ColorWay Sports·

The Spa and Hungary double-header is the last stop before Formula 1's summer break, and this year it carries extra weight: the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, July 17 to 19, marks the centenary of Grand Prix racing at Spa-Francorchamps, 100 years since the circuit first hosted a Grand Prix. A milestone like that is exactly the kind of weekend that pulls throwback helmets and special liveries out of the grid, so we are tracking every one. This is our running ColorWay Sports tracker for every special livery and one-off helmet across the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa and the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring, ranked and graded, newest at the top. Esteban Ocon gets us started with one of the best helmet designs of the season, and a Red Bull throwback helmet is already teased. We add each new livery and helmet as it drops, so bookmark this page and check back through both race weekends.

1. Esteban Ocon's Spider-Man Helmet · Haas · Spa and Hungary

Esteban Ocon is running a Spider-Man inspired helmet for both Spa and Hungary, and it is a genuinely great one. The design drops a black web pattern across a deep red shell, with a bold black spider crawling right over the crown, straight out of the classic red-and-black Spidey suit. The gold mirror visor finishes it off and gives the whole thing a premium, comic-book-cover shine. What really makes it work is the restraint: the Haas mark on top, the Toyota Gazoo Racing and Singha sponsor logos, and the Haas Automation band all sit cleanly inside the web instead of fighting it, so the helmet reads as Spider-Man first and a sponsor billboard second. That balance is the hardest part of a themed helmet, and Ocon's designer nailed it.

Themed helmets can tip into gimmick territory fast, but this one lands on the right side of the line. The red base ties it to the Haas colors, the web pattern is instantly readable at any angle, and running it across two race weekends instead of a single one-off gives it real presence heading into the break. It is easily one of our favorite helmet designs of the 2026 season so far.

Grade: A- — a clean, confident Spider-Man execution that stays on theme without burying the sponsors. The red-and-black web and gold visor are a fantastic combination, and it just misses an A because the concept, as fun as it is, is a familiar pop-culture pull rather than something wholly original to Ocon.

Teased: Red Bull's Eau Rouge Throwback Helmet

Keep an eye on Red Bull. On July 13 the team posted a teaser built around reversed footage of Eau Rouge with a 2015 callback, and a still frame in the clip showed a helmet alongside it, the kind of hint teams drop when a driver's Spa helmet carries a retro cue. Expect the classic high-contrast Red Bull color blocking that pops against Spa's green forest backdrop, likely with a stripe or flash lifted from the referenced 2015 design. It is not officially revealed yet, so we are not grading it, but the full helmet and official images should surface as the race weekend gets going. The moment it is confirmed, it goes into the ranking above.

What Drops Next

Spa and Hungary still have plenty of room for more, and the Spa centenary raises the odds. Special liveries and one-off helmets tend to surface in the days right before a race weekend, and a 100-year anniversary at one of the sport's most iconic circuits is exactly the kind of milestone that pulls a throwback look or an anniversary livery out of the grid. We will add every new Belgian and Hungarian Grand Prix livery and helmet to this tracker as it drops, newest first, each one graded.
