This is the ColorWay Sports NHL daily uniform tracker: what every team actually wore, every game, logged the morning after from game photos. Not just the thirds and the specials, the whole closet, home darks and road whites included, because the patterns only show up when you keep the full record.
Wondering what sweater your team is wearing tonight? Every club's 2026-27 uniform schedule lays out the closet and the dates for thirds, throwbacks and Hometown Remix nights as they are announced, and each team's uniform calendar files every game it has played. This page is the receipts: what they actually put on.
Thursday, October 1
The first full night of the season: eight games, 16 clubs, and every one of them in the standard set, dark at home and white on the road. The biggest score was in Vancouver, where Edmonton won 9-7 two nights after the Canucks beat them 6-5 in overtime in Edmonton, so the same two teams swapped sweaters inside 48 hours. Utah shut out Chicago 6-0 in the Mammoth's home opener, the Devils beat the Flyers in overtime, and the Sharks took Florida to overtime and won it.

Three games, and one small detail worth logging. Pittsburgh opened its 60th season in Philadelphia in road whites with the new 60th anniversary logo on the helmets, a mark the club says stays on the helmets all season, and won 7-0. Toronto played its second home game in two nights in the blue home sweater, and Colorado beat Los Angeles 8-4 in burgundy against the Kings' white.

Opening night, five games, and no surprises in the closet: every home team in its dark, every visitor in white. Carolina raised its Stanley Cup banner before the opener against Florida and wore the black home sweater for it, then lost 1-0 in overtime. Montreal won at Toronto in the oldest rivalry on the schedule, red-trimmed white against Leafs blue, and Boston shut out the Rangers in the black home.

Every Team's Uniform Calendar
Every club has its own page with every game of the season on a calendar, the sweater worn in each one we have confirmed, and how many times each look has come out at home and on the road. Start at the NHL uniform calendar hub, or jump to a team:
Frequently Asked Questions
What did NHL teams wear last night?
The newest day is always at the top of this page. Every game from the night before gets a card with both sweaters, home team on the right, and the final score, logged the next morning once we have seen the game photos. Through the first three nights of 2026-27, all 16 games used the standard sweaters: dark at home, white on the road.
What jersey is my NHL team wearing tonight?
Open your club's 2026-27 uniform schedule. Each one lists the full closet and every date announced for a third, throwback or Hometown Remix sweater. If a game is not on that list, the default applies: the home team wears its dark and the visitor wears white.
Do NHL teams wear dark jerseys at home?
Yes. Since 2003-04 the home team wears its dark sweater and the visitor wears white, and that is the rule this tracker checks against every night. Thirds, throwbacks and Hometown Remix sweaters are worn at home in place of the dark, and a few clubs occasionally swap the order for a special game, which is exactly the kind of night we flag here.
How do you know what each team wore?
We look at the game photos and highlight frames from every game the morning after and confirm both sweaters before anything is logged. A game we have not seen does not get a card. Scores come from the NHL's own scoreboard.
Where can I see every game a team has played this season?
On its team uniform calendar. This page keeps the five most recent nights; the team pages keep the whole season, with the sweater from every confirmed game and running home and road counts.
The Bottom Line on the NHL Daily Uniform Tracker
Hockey's closets are smaller than baseball's, which makes the exceptions stand out: the Screaming Eagle nights in Washington, the Flames' 2004 throwback, the Hometown Remix sweaters arriving across the league this winter. This page catches every one of them as it happens, and every standard night in between, so the record is complete. Check it with your morning coffee, and for what your team wears next, the NHL uniform schedule has the dates.
