The NBA has three national broadcast partners for the 2026 season: ESPN/ABC, Amazon Prime Video, and NBC Peacock. Unlike the local broadcasts where half the league shares the same FanDuel Sports Network scorebug template, the national networks each bring their own unique design to the table. We ranked every local NBA scorebug for 2026 already, so now it is time to look at the national side.

Here are all three NBA national broadcast scorebugs ranked from best to worst.

1. ESPN/ABC: A

ESPN made a change to their NBA scorebug a few years ago and it was absolutely the right move. The design is simple but it feels important. When you turn on an ESPN or ABC game, the scorebug immediately tells you that you are watching a big-time broadcast. That is exactly what a national scorebug should do.

The biggest thing that sets ESPN apart is the color work. The colors on the scorebug typically match the actual uniforms on the court. The base color matches the uniform and the lettering matches the lettering on the jersey. That level of attention to detail is rare and it makes a real difference. It would be cool if they incorporated team logos into the design, but even without them the scorebug works because the colors do all the heavy lifting.

We will do a separate review when ESPN changes their scorebug for the NBA Playoffs and Finals, since they typically roll out a different look for the postseason. But for the regular season, this is the best scorebug on national TV and it is not particularly close.

Grade: A

2. Amazon Prime Video: B

This one has grown on us throughout the year. When you turn on a Prime game, you immediately know you are watching Prime. The design is similar to their NFL Thursday Night Football scorebug, which is a good thing because that one works well too. It is simple and very clean without feeling like it is missing anything.

Prime uses team graphics instead of abbreviations, which is the right call. The logos already tell you who is playing, so there is no need to spell it out. One small detail we like: when the shot clock hits 10 seconds and under, it turns blue instead of the red or yellow that other networks use. That is a subtle on-brand move for Prime and the kind of design choice that shows someone is thinking about every element on the screen.

The overall package is strong. It does not try to do too much and it lets the game be the focus. A clean, modern scorebug that does its job well.

Grade: B

3. NBC Peacock: B-

This is NBC's debut NBA season and the scorebug is fine but underwhelming. We love the NBC Sunday Night Football scorebug so much that the NBA version feels like a step down. It does not carry the same weight or polish that NBC brings to its NFL broadcasts.

The design has a paint-like quality to it, which is a nice basketball touch and shows that someone thought about making this feel like an NBA product. They use team logos, which is good, but they also include the team abbreviations like NYK and ATL right next to them. That feels redundant. If the logo is there, you do not need the abbreviation. The brackets between the score numbers and the logos are an odd design choice that adds visual clutter without adding clarity.

At the bottom of the scorebug it says "NBA Monday" with the Peacock branding. It does not feel grand enough for a national broadcast. NBC has the design talent to make something special here and we hope they refine this heading into next season. For now, it gets the job done but it does not make you feel like you are watching must-see TV.
