The NBA changes its clothes more than any league in American sport. Four jersey editions a season, a City Edition that reinvents itself every year, courts that get repainted for the playoffs, and in 2026-27 a run of full rebrands that go well past the uniform. Keeping track of it is a job, so we did it.
This is our complete guide to what the NBA looks like in 2026-27: every new uniform and City Edition we have graded, every court we have reviewed, the broadcast graphics that frame all of it, and the trackers we keep updated through the season.

What Is Actually New for 2026-27
Three things separate this season from a normal one. Minnesota did a full rebrand, uniforms and courts and the wolf head together, and it is the best work anyone has done in years. Four wordmarks leaked early, covering the Hawks, Nets, Rockets and Timberwolves, and three of them are throwbacks. And the City Edition cycle turned away from black, with Phoenix swapping theirs for bright teal and Washington bringing the cherry blossoms back.
Courts
Courts are the most overlooked surface in the sport and the one that changes most between the regular season and the playoffs. We rank them, we explain who actually designs them, and we track what the league does to the floor once the postseason starts.
Broadcast
A uniform only reaches most people through a broadcast, which makes the scorebug, the theme and the announce team part of how a team looks. We grade all of it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many uniforms does an NBA team have? Four in a normal season: Association, the white set, Icon, the team's primary colour, Statement, an alternate, and City Edition, which is redesigned every year. Some teams add a Classic Edition throwback on top of that, which is why a few clubs carry five or six looks.
When do NBA City Edition jerseys come out? City Editions are usually revealed in the autumn, shortly before or just after the season starts, though leaks almost always arrive first. We grade each one as it lands and collect them in the guide above.
Who designs NBA courts? Not Nike, which surprises most people. Courts are designed by the teams working with specialist floor manufacturers, and the palette is generally matched to the uniform set rather than the other way around. We break the whole process down in our court design explainer.
What is the difference between Icon and Statement Edition? Icon is the team's primary colour uniform, the one most fans picture. Statement is a secondary alternate meant to be bolder, and it is the slot most teams use for black or an off-palette colour.
Which NBA team has the best uniforms in 2026-27? On our grades, Minnesota. Their rebrand scored an A+ because the uniforms, the court and the logo were redesigned as one system rather than piecemeal, which is rare.
The Bottom Line on NBA Uniforms in 2026-27
The league is in an unusually active stretch. A full rebrand in Minnesota, four wordmarks changing, City Editions moving away from black, and new ownership groups in a couple of markets that historically triggers a redesign within a season or two. We grade every piece of it as it arrives and keep this guide current, so it is worth bookmarking before opening night.
