The Giants built it in 2016 for the NFL's Color Rush program, and the club says the white jersey is modeled on the road uniform it wore for two decades, the era of its first Super Bowl title in the 1980s. Kelly Green is the Eagles' throwback to the uniforms of the Randall Cunningham and Reggie White era, which the team wore from 1985 to 1995. It came back as an alternate in 2023. Here is the set as the Eagles revealed it in July 2023, per NFL.com:

Two days later, on Friday, September 4, the Eagles posted all three of their 2026 alternate dates together: Kelly Green against the Giants and the Texans, and the black set against the Seahawks. So the Giants game was announced on September 2, and the full alternate schedule on September 4.

Giants: twice, back to back. Week 9 at Philadelphia on November 8, and Week 10 at home against the Washington Commanders on Thursday, November 12, on Prime Video. Those are New York's only two Vintage White games this season. The Legacy Blue throwback also gets two, October 4 against Arizona and December 6 against San Francisco. Have the Giants and Eagles Worn These Against Each Other Before?
In the original era, this was a normal Giants-Eagles game. From the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s, the Eagles wore kelly green and the Giants wore white with blue numbers on the road, which is what both of these uniforms are copying.
In the modern era, we could not find a previous game with both throwbacks on the field. Kelly Green only returned in 2023, and the Eagles have worn it against the Giants before, including at the Linc in 2025, but we found no record of New York wearing Vintage White in any of those games. Neither club's announcement mentions an earlier meeting in these two sets. If one turns up, we will add it here.
Our Take
This is the best-dressed game of the NFL season so far. Kelly green is the best color in the league, and the Giants' white set is the right opponent for it: plenty of white, with blue and red trim that does not compete with the green. Both helmets match the era, the navy wordmark helmet on one side and the kelly green helmet with silver wings on the other, and nobody is wearing a modern piece with an old jersey.
Our one complaint is the count. Both of these are better than the primary uniforms they replace, and each team is using its set twice. Our matchup grade: A.
