Kentucky is going "ice cold" at Tennessee on Saturday. The Wildcats announced an all-white uniform with a chrome silver helmet for the game at Neyland Stadium, and they posted it with players sitting in a freezer truck stacked with bags of ice. It is a fun idea, and it is a direct answer to Tennessee, which wears its all-black Dark Mode for the same game.

- Jersey: white, with "KENTUCKY" across the chest and blue numbers.

Our Grade: B-
We like what Kentucky was going for. All white against Tennessee in all black is a great TV picture, and the ice theme is a better rollout than most programs bother with.
The helmet is the problem.
- It doesn't match. The chrome silver is cooler and grayer than the white jersey and pants, so from head to toe it reads as two different uniforms. A white helmet, or a white chrome finish, would have finished the look.
- The logo disappears. On a mirror finish under stadium lights, the UK on the side washes out. From a broadcast camera you can barely tell whose helmet it is.
So it is a B-: a great idea that lands a little off. Swap the helmet and this is an A-.
