The Heat just showed the uniform for "A Night in Vice City," and it is the loudest jersey in the NBA this season. Miami will wear it Wednesday, November 18, against the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center, at 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. It is a three-way collaboration between Nike, Travis Scott's Cactus Jack and Rockstar Games, timed to the night before Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on November 19. GTA VI is set in Vice City, the game's version of Miami.
The look is black with neon pink and white trim, a backwards Nike logo, Cactus Jack's cross logo in pink and six pink stars down the shorts. There are two versions, and the one the players wear is not the one most people are posting.

Which Jersey Do the Heat Actually Wear?
The players wear the HEAT jersey. The Heat's own uniform page lists the "Nike X Cactus Jack Miami HEAT Uniform" as "On Court Only": black, with "HEAT" and the numbers in pink outline with a thin grid pattern inside the letters, a Robinhood patch on the chest and the backwards Nike logo on the other side.
The "Vice City" script jersey is the fan version. The "Nike X Cactus Jack 'Vice City' Uniform" swaps "HEAT" for "Vice City" in pink neon script, in the style of the original game's logo, and replaces the Robinhood patch with a pink VI logo for GTA VI. The Heat say it goes on sale November 18, at A Night in Vice City.
So if the Vice City script is the one you saw first, that is the merch. On court, it says HEAT.

Every Detail
The backwards Nike logo. On both jerseys the swoosh and the word NIKE are flipped, in pink. That is Travis Scott's signature: his Nike sneakers have used a reversed swoosh since his first Air Jordan 1. It is the one thing on this uniform that tells you who made it without reading a tag.

Cactus Jack on the shorts. The Cactus Jack cross logo sits in pink on the side of the shorts and on the jersey hem, and the jock tag reads "Cactus Jack Edition."
Six pink stars. A column of six stars runs down the shorts, with six more over the jock tag. The team doesn't say why, but any GTA player knows six stars: it was the top wanted level in the original Vice City.

The patches. The on-court jersey carries the Heat's Robinhood sponsor patch in pink. The fan version gets the GTA VI "VI" logo, with palm trees inside the letters, in the same spot. Rockstar's branding stays off the court.

The court and the arena. The Heat say they will play on "special hardwood built for Vice City," for one night only, and the arena is getting the full treatment: Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell, two of the game's fast food chains, will have stands in the concourse. Kaseya Center becomes "Vice City" on the team's own game page.

Our Grade: A-
This is great branding. The neon pink on black is Miami, it is Vice City, and it is the Heat's old Vice uniforms all at once, which is why it works: the team spent years making pink and black feel like its own colors, so a GTA collaboration doesn't feel borrowed. The backwards Nike logo and the Cactus Jack details are the kind of thing people will zoom in on, and the six stars are a smart touch for anyone who played the original.
It isn't an A+ because the best version stays in the stands. The Vice City script is the whole idea, and on the court it turns back into "HEAT" with a sponsor patch. If the players had worn the script, this would be the jersey of the season. Instead, the fans' version is better than the players' version.
