The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Phoenix Suns 114-110 in the second game of the 2026 NBA Play-In Tournament on Amazon Prime Video. This was the 8 vs. 7 matchup in the Western Conference, with the winner locking in the seventh seed and a first-round date with the Thunder. We watched the whole thing with a focus on the visuals. Here's our review.

The Scorebug: "Winner Is 7th Seed"

Amazon kept the same scorebug from the Heat-Hornets game, and it still looks good. The SoFi Play-In Tournament branding sits in the middle, and the team logos and colors are clean on both sides.

The detail we really liked in this game was the text on the right side of the scorebug. Instead of just saying "8 vs. 7" or labeling the seeds, it says "WINNER IS 7TH SEED." That's a smart touch. It immediately tells the viewer what's at stake without making them think about the Play-In bracket format. Casual fans don't always know what happens when the 8 seed beats the 7 seed. This removes all confusion and adds weight to the game. You see that text and you know this matters.

Uniform Matchup: Blazers Red vs. Suns Black

This was a great jersey matchup. Phoenix wore their black Statement Edition at home and Portland came in wearing their red Statement Edition. Color on color is always a good look when the contrast is this strong. Red against black reads clearly on the court, there's zero confusion about who is who, and both teams look like they belong in a playoff game.

We've said it before and we'll say it again. Color on color matchups are almost always better than the standard home whites vs. dark road jerseys. When you get two strong colors going against each other, the game just looks more intense on TV. This was one of the better uniform matchups of the Play-In so far.

Court Branding

Same setup as the first game. The Play-In Tournament branding is on the sideline and the basket stanchion pad carries the SoFi Play-In Tournament logo. We still wish the NBA would put a logo on center court for the postseason like they used to, but at least the branding is present and consistent across both games so far.

The Suns' court at Mortgage Matchup Center looked clean on camera. The purple and orange color scheme pops on TV, and the court design doesn't feel cluttered. Phoenix has always had one of the better courts in the league, and it held up well for a postseason game.

Overall Take

This was a clean broadcast. The scorebug works, the jersey matchup was one of the best we've seen all season, and the Play-In branding is consistent. The "Winner Is 7th Seed" text on the scorebug is the kind of small detail that makes a broadcast feel polished. More of that.
