Juventus have fixed the thing everyone complained about last season and introduced a new problem in the process. The stripes are properly back and the pink is gone, replaced by gold. The gold is now the issue.

The stripes and the collar are both excellent. After a season where the striping was thinned and interrupted, this is a return to the wide, clean bands that make a Juventus shirt legible from the top of the stand. The fold-over white polo collar is a genuine period detail and it gives the whole thing a tailored quality.

The gold is the problem. Replacing pink with gold sounds like an obvious upgrade, and on the crest it is. But gold on white has almost no contrast, which makes the Jeep sponsor and the Juventus crest genuinely hard to read against the white stripes. A darker gold, or gold outlined in black, would have solved it.

Still a clear improvement on last season.

What Does Juventus's 2026/27 Away Kit Look Like?

Juventus and pink have real history. The club's original shirts were pink before the switch to black and white, so this is not the provocation it looks like to anyone who assumes pink is a marketing decision.

The embossed speckling is a nice piece of texture and the black and white trim keeps it anchored. It is just fine rather than good, and it lands in the middle of our ranking accordingly.

The Gold Readability Problem

This is worth dwelling on because it is a recurring 2026/27 issue. Gold trim was everywhere this season: Chelsea's laurel wreath, Bayern's collar and cuffs, Vanderbilt's college football set, Juventus's crest and sponsor.

Gold works beautifully on a dark base. On white, it disappears. Juventus put theirs on a shirt that is fifty percent white and the sponsor pays for it. Chelsea put theirs on solid blue and it sings. Same material, opposite outcomes, and the only variable is what is behind it.
