The NHL's Hometown Remix jerseys stop being photos this week. Ten teams wear theirs for the first time between Tuesday and Thursday, and the week starts with the best possible matchup: the Penguins debut the best Remix jersey in the league tonight against the Golden Knights, whose Remix we ranked dead last. Vegas is on the road, so it will be in white, but the timing is perfect.
Here is every debut this week, with where each jersey landed in our Hometown Remix ranking.
Tuesday, November 3
Penguins vs. Golden Knights: No. 1 of 32
Image: NHL
A deep blue sweater with an Andy Warhol-style pop-art penguin, light blue trim and halftone dots. It is our favorite Remix in the league, and it looks a lot like Pittsburgh's 2008 Winter Classic jersey, which is about as good as a hockey sweater gets. Ten games this season. Why it's the best in the NHL.
Canadiens vs. Jets: No. 9
Image: NHL
White, with the five symbols from Montreal's flag down the sleeves and a CH that looks carved in stone. We really like it. Our one wish is that it had been a color instead of white. Ten games.
Flyers vs. Wild: No. 21
Image: NHL
Gray, with six orange stripes on the arms and the Liberty Bell's inscription stamped between them. Great story, but the gray drags it down. Thirteen games, tied for the most in the league.
Blue Jackets vs. Avalanche: No. 22
Image: NHL
A gray sweater with the cannon on the chest. A team called the Blue Jackets wearing a gray jacket is still a strange choice. Thirteen games, so you will see a lot of it.
Wednesday, November 4
Sabres vs. Senators: No. 4
Image: NHL
Royal blue with the throwback goat head, big, right in the middle of the chest. Buffalo just does uniforms well. Eight games.
Kings vs. Sharks: No. 6
Image: NHL
Purple and gold with black stripes and a Hollywood-style crest. Purple belongs in the Kings' everyday uniforms, and we are glad to at least get it here. Seven games, all on Wednesday home dates.
Kraken vs. Flames: No. 12
Image: NHL
Deep sea blue, two cream stripes and the anchor logo finally on the chest. Simple and clean. Six games.
Also Wednesday: the Panthers wear their coral Remix again, at home against Chicago. They debuted it Monday against Detroit, and it is still our most overrated Remix.
Thursday, November 5
Oilers vs. Ducks: No. 24
Image: NHL
Black with orange outlines, an "Oil Country" patch and warning stripes at the hem. Fun up close. From the stands, it is a black jersey with orange trim. Seven games.
Islanders vs. Hurricanes: No. 19
Image: NHL
The Fisherman is back, cleaned up, on a white sweater with wavy teal, orange and navy stripes. Islanders fans have wanted this for years. We still don't love the logo. Eleven games.
Utah at Canadiens: No. 8
Image: NHL
The only road debut of the week. Bright mountain blue with black and white stripes shaped like rising tusks, and the first Mammoth jersey that isn't black or white. It reminds us a little of the Capitals' sweater, which is a compliment.
Also Thursday: the Blue Jackets wear their Remix for the second time, at home against Dallas.
The Rest of the League
Every other team's first Remix date is in our Hometown Remix debut schedule, and what every team wears each night is in the NHL uniform tracker. We will add photos from each debut as the games are played.
