Oregon is bringing back Mummy Mode for the biggest game on its schedule. The Ducks posted their uniform for Saturday's trip to Ohio State on Wednesday evening, November 4, and called it "Mummy Mode 2.0." It is a chrome helmet with a chrome facemask, a white jersey with black chrome numbers, black pants and white socks. Kickoff at Ohio Stadium is Saturday, November 7, at 3:30 p.m. Eastern on CBS.

What Oregon Is Wearing at Ohio State

Oregon posted three photos of the look. Here is every piece we can see in them:

  • Helmet: a mirror chrome shell with the Oregon wing pattern pressed into the finish, a chrome facemask and a small Duck decal on the front bumper. In the darker shots the chrome reads almost black. In the light it reads silver.
  • Jersey: white, with black numbers that have a chrome shine and a perforated dot texture inside them. The shoulders and collar carry a silver-gray feather pattern over a carbon fiber texture, with a silver O at the neckline and a chrome Big Ten patch on the chest.
  • Pants: black, with a white O on the hip.
  • Socks: white, pulled over black leg tights.
  • Cleats: glossy black, with a chrome-like shine to match the helmet.
  • Extras: black gloves and black arm sleeves covered in thin white lines that look like wrapping, plus a volt green mouthguard.

What Was the Original Mummy Mode?

Oregon first went "Mummy Mode" on September 27, 2025, at Penn State, in the Nittany Lions' White Out game at Beaver Stadium. Oregon won 30-24 in double overtime.

That look was:

  • Black helmet with silver wings.
  • White jersey from Oregon's "Warp Speed" set.
  • Black pants.
  • Glow-in-the-dark arm, leg and head wraps designed to look like mummy bandages, and gloves with the same pattern.
  • A "Mummy Duck" logo, a new mummy version of the Duck, on a shoulder patch and inside the gloves.
  • The Mummy Duck Vaporposite, an unreleased Nike cleat made only for the Ducks: white, with green glow-in-the-dark stripes wrapped around it like bandages.

Why the name? It was spooky season, and the whole uniform was built around mummy wrappings that glowed under the stadium lights in a night game. Oregon announced the cleat that week as going "Mummy mode," and the name stuck to the whole look. The mummy logo and the glow-in-the-dark pieces were both firsts for Oregon.

How Mummy Mode 2.0 Is Different

The bones are the same: white jersey, black pants. The changes are at the top and the bottom.

  • The helmet went from black to chrome. This is the big one. The original was a flat black lid. The new one is a mirror.
  • The cleats went from white to black. The original glowing white Vaporposite is gone, replaced by a glossy black cleat.
  • The wraps are still there, but quieter. The gloves and arm sleeves still carry the white wrapping lines on black. Oregon's photos don't show whether they glow this time.
  • We can't see a Mummy Duck patch on the shoulders in the photos Oregon posted.

Our Grade: A-

Mummy Mode 2.0 is better than the original, and it is the helmet that does it. The first version was a great idea carried by accessories. Take away the glowing wraps and it was a black helmet over a white jersey and black pants, a combination plenty of teams wear. The chrome helmet gives 2.0 a centerpiece, and the black chrome numbers tie it to the jersey so the whole thing looks planned from top to bottom.

What it loses is the gimmick that made the name make sense. The first Mummy Mode was a night game in the White Out where the bandages glowed. This is a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in November, so even if the wraps glow, they will not get the stage they had at Penn State.

It is still the best road look Oregon could pick for Columbus. Ohio State lives in silver helmets, and Oregon is showing up in a shinier one.

What Ohio State Is Wearing Against Oregon

Ohio State has not posted its uniform for Saturday yet. Big Ten home teams wear color, and the Buckeyes have worn their standard home set at every home game this season: silver helmet, scarlet jersey, gray pants. That is what we expect against Oregon. Ohio State also has three alternates that have not been worn yet: Scarlet Rush (all scarlet), Tunnel Vision (all black) and Sub Zero (all white). With Oregon in white, the all-white Sub Zero would clash, so if the Buckeyes go alternate here, Scarlet Rush or Tunnel Vision are the options. Every Ohio State game is in our Ohio State 2026 uniform schedule.

Oregon vs. Ohio State: The Rivalry So Far

This is the third meeting in a little over two years. Oregon beat Ohio State 32-31 at Autzen Stadium on October 12, 2024, the first top-3 matchup in Autzen history. Ohio State answered in the College Football Playoff, beating top-ranked Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl on January 1, 2025. Saturday is the first meeting since.
