Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys 2026: Every Jersey Ranked, From Black to White

Pittsburgh owns the most conservative wardrobe in the NFL, and it is one of the best. We put the Steelers seventh in our best NFL uniforms of 2026 at an A-, mostly on the strength of a helmet with the logo on one side only. There are four uniforms in the closet: the black home set, the white road set, the all-black Color Rush and the 1933 throwback with the gold helmet. Only the first two have games on the 2026 calendar, so those are the two we rank here. The team has confirmed the 1933 throwback returns this season but has not named the game.

Here are the Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys on the 2026 schedule, ranked and graded, with the helmet and pants each one wears. For the full jersey schedule 2026, week by week, see the Steelers 2026 uniform schedule.

2. White Road

ColorWay Sports Grade
A-

The white road jersey has black numbers and black and gold sleeve stripes, worn with the black helmet and, usually, yellow pants. It projects to eight road games: at the Patriots in Week 2, at the Browns on Thursday Night Football in Week 4, at the Buccaneers in Week 6, against the Saints in Paris in Week 7 (New Orleans is the designated home team), at the Eagles in Week 11, at the Jaguars on Monday Night Football in Week 14, at the Titans in Week 17 and at the Ravens in Week 18. None of those is confirmed by the team, so treat them as our projection.

White between the black helmet and yellow pants reads as three distinct bands, and the black numbers are about as legible as numbers get. It is also the road jersey that has changed the least in the league, which is the point. The helmet carries the color, and the jersey stays out of its way.

It grades an A-. It is a classic road set with nothing wrong with it. It ranks second only because the black jersey is where this franchise's colors actually live.

1. Black Home

ColorWay Sports Grade
A

The black home jersey has gold numbers and gold sleeve stripes. Pittsburgh opened the season in it against Atlanta with the black helmet and yellow pants, and won 20-13. It projects to the other seven home games at Acrisure Stadium: the Bengals in Week 3, the Colts in Week 5, the Browns in Week 8, the Broncos on Black Friday in Week 12, the Texans on Sunday Night Football in Week 13, the Ravens in Week 15 and the Panthers in Week 16. It also goes on the road once, in Week 10 at Cincinnati on Sunday Night Football, where the Bengals wear their White Bengal look and Pittsburgh stays in black.

This jersey has barely moved since the 1960s, and it has never needed to. Gold on black is the highest-contrast version of the Steelers palette, and it is the one that matches the hypocycloids on the helmet, still the only asymmetric mark in the sport. It works because nobody has ever redesigned it to make a statement.

It grades an A, the top mark in the closet. It looks like football, which is the highest compliment we have.

The Steelers Uniforms Without a 2026 Date

Two more uniforms are in Pittsburgh's closet, and neither has a game yet, so neither gets a ranking. Team president Art Rooney II has confirmed that the 1933 throwback, the gold jersey with black stripes and the matte gold helmet, returns in 2026, but the team has not picked the game. The all-black Color Rush set is unconfirmed, and the only home night game this season, Week 13 against Houston on Sunday, December 6, is its only realistic slot. We will add both to this ranking the day a date is set.

The Bottom Line on the Steelers Jersey Rankings

The Steelers jerseys rank by where the gold goes. The black home jersey puts it on the numbers and grades an A. The white road jersey leaves it to the pants and the helmet and grades an A-.

There is no weak jersey here, and no gimmick either. The only question left for 2026 is the one Pittsburgh fans ask every year: which week does the gold helmet come out.

Frequently Asked Questions
