Barcelona's 2026/27 Kits: The Kobe Away Shirt, Graded

ColorWay Sports·

Barcelona have the boldest away shirt in Europe this season and one of the most carefully thought-through home shirts. The away is a Kobe Bryant collaboration, which sounds like a gimmick and is not. Together they make one of the three best wardrobes on the continent.

What Does Barcelona's 2026/27 Home Kit Look Like?

Four vertical blaugrana stripes echoing the 2006/07 shirt, with a tonal gradient running through them, collar and cuff framing drawn from the renovated Camp Nou facade panels, and new serif numbering inspired by Gaudi.

There is more genuine design thought in this shirt than almost any other on our European ranking. The four-stripe layout is a real reference rather than a vague one, the facade detailing on the collar is specific to the rebuilt stadium, and the Gaudi-derived numerals are the sort of thing that makes a kit identifiable from the back.

Where it loses a little is the gradient through the stripes. Blaugrana is one of the great colour pairings in sport and it is at its best when the two colours are unambiguous. Muddying the boundary between them is the one decision we would take back.

We have liked past Barcelona home shirts more. This is still a good one.

Grade: B+

What Does Barcelona's 2026/27 Away Kit Look Like?

A Nike, Barcelona and Kobe Bryant collaboration: a purple-to-black gradient with iridescent serpent detailing, a snakeskin pattern and a custom Gold Mamba typeface in metallic gold.

The strangest thing in the whole group and one of the best.

On paper a basketball-legend collaboration on a football shirt should be a marketing exercise. In practice the colours work, the iridescent serpent detailing is genuinely well executed, and the Gold Mamba typeface is a better custom numeral set than most clubs commission for their primary kit.

We are enormous Kobe people here, so that counts for something on its own. But this would be a strong shirt without the name attached.

The Gaudi Numbering Is The Detail To Notice

The home shirt's numerals are a new serif drawn from Gaudi, and they are doing something most clubs ignore. A number set is the largest single piece of graphic design on a football shirt and it is usually an afterthought pulled from a league template.

Barcelona commissioned one with a reason to exist and rooted it in the city. Between that and the Gold Mamba typeface on the away, Barcelona have the two most distinctive number sets in Europe this season.

Who Makes Barcelona's Kits?

Nike, who have supplied Barcelona since 1998.
