Real Madrid's 2026/27 Kits: Two Bs For The Biggest Kit

ColorWay Sports·

The most-copied home shirt in football, and the most valuable, graded a B. That is the story of Real Madrid's 2026/27. Neither shirt is bad. Neither is close to what this club has produced before, and the pink on the shoulders is the decision we would take back.

What Does Real Madrid's 2026/27 Home Kit Look Like?

White with dark green collar and cuff trim, a diamond jacquard drawn from the geometry of the crown, and pink on the three stripes across the shoulders. Debuted July 28.

The jacquard is nice work up close. Pulling the diamond geometry out of the crown on the crest and weaving it into the fabric is a proper piece of design thinking, and the dark green trim is an underused Real Madrid secondary that deserves more outings.

The pink is the problem. Pink on the three stripes of a Real Madrid home shirt has no justification in the club's history and it sits in the most visible position on the garment. Dark green trim with white stripes would have been unimpeachable.

This is Real Madrid. They have done far better than this, many times, and a B on the biggest home shirt in world football is a mild disappointment rather than a failure.

Grade: B

What Does Real Madrid's 2026/27 Away Kit Look Like?

Dark green and white, drawn from the crest, launched July 23 under the line "Una camiseta. Un legado."

Green is a legitimate Real Madrid secondary and the tonal treatment is clean, so the foundations are right.

What it lacks is contrast. There is not enough anywhere in this shirt to give your eye something to hold, and it needs one pop of colour it never gets. A white or gold detail somewhere would have transformed it.

Worth flagging for buyers: some owners have reported fabric snagging on this shirt, the same complaint that has followed Manchester United's away.

Grade: B

The Third Shirt: Not Yet Released

Real Madrid's third kit launches August 12. It is a vibrant pink base with a geometric print of circles, diamonds and dotted lines drawn from Latin American art, with matching pink shorts and socks. Given how we feel about the pink on the home shirt, we are curious whether committing to it fully works better than using it as trim. We grade it once it is out.

The Pink Question

Real Madrid have put pink on both the home shirt's shoulders and, from August 12, an entire third kit. Two very different bets on the same colour.

Our read is that the third kit is the more defensible one. A shirt that commits fully to a colour is making a statement you can accept or reject. Pink used as trim on the most traditional white shirt in football is neither one thing nor the other, and it is the reason the home kit sits at a B rather than higher.

Who Makes Real Madrid's Kits?

adidas, who have supplied Real Madrid since 1998.

The Bottom Line

Real Madrid graded two Bs for 2026/27, which is a mild disappointment for the most valuable kit in football. The home shirt's crown-derived jacquard and dark green trim are good work undone by pink on the three stripes, and the green away lacks any pop of contrast. The pink third kit lands August 12. Wardrobe grade: B.
