While Buffalo was unveiling a gray alternate and a new blue helmet, and the Bears and Packers were being fitted for brand-new Rivalries uniforms, the Kansas City Chiefs announced nothing at all. That is not an oversight. The Chiefs are the most conservative uniform team in the league, and going into 2026 they have no new alternate, no throwback, and no announced plans for either. What they have is red for home, white for the road, and one combination that passes for variety. Here is the full Chiefs 2026 uniform schedule week by week.

The Full 2026 Chiefs Uniform Schedule, Week by Week
Eight home games in red, nine road games in white, and a Week 5 bye. There is genuinely nothing else to track.
The Chiefs have not published a game-by-game uniform schedule, and they have never needed to. Home red and road white is the whole system, so the grid above follows the standard NFL home-and-away convention. The variable is the pants, which the equipment staff decides the week of each game, and that is where the only real choice happens.
The Red Home Set (8 Games)
Red jersey, white pants, red helmet, and a gold-outlined number that has barely moved in sixty years. It is the look for all eight home dates, starting with the Week 1 Monday-night opener against Denver on September 14 and running through the Week 18 finale against the Raiders. The best of the bunch on paper is Week 15 against New England on Monday, December 21, and Week 16 against the 49ers the following Sunday, a pair of December marquee games at Arrowhead.
There is a strong argument that the Chiefs simply got it right the first time. The red is saturated without being loud, the gold does the work of a trim colour rather than a second primary, and the arrowhead reads instantly at any distance. Nothing in the last decade of alternate-uniform design has produced anything Kansas City would obviously be better off wearing.
The White Road Set (9 Games)
White jersey, red pants, red helmet. Nine games, including the two Thursday dates that bookend the back half of the season: Thanksgiving at Buffalo on November 26 and the following Thursday at the Rams on December 3. Both of those are worth circling for a different reason, because in each one the Chiefs are the plain half of the frame. Buffalo has its blue primary that night and the Rams are in the gold Classic Sol, so Kansas City in road whites is the neutral backdrop twice in eight days.
The Red-on-Red Wrinkle
The one deviation the Chiefs allow themselves is red pants with the red jersey, a full monochrome look they have pulled out for selected home games under Andy Reid. It has no announced 2026 date and it never does. It appears when the club feels like it, usually for a prime-time home game, which in 2026 would point at the Week 1 Monday opener against Denver or the Week 15 Monday game against New England.
We are on record that monochrome is usually a mistake, and Kansas City is one of the few teams it works for, mostly because the red is dark enough to hold its shape under lights and the gold trim keeps the whole thing from turning into a single block of colour.
Why the Closet Stays This Small
Every year some version of the question comes back: when do the Chiefs finally add a black alternate, or a throwback, or anything? So far the answer keeps being no. The league now allows an alternate helmet on top of an alternate jersey, and Kansas City has not taken up the helmet at all. Their historical detour is the monochrome red look, which uses the same red jersey rather than a separate one, so the practical set has stayed at two shirts for years.
For a team that has spent the last several seasons as the most-watched franchise in the sport, that restraint is worth something. The uniform is not chasing a merchandise cycle, and it is one of a handful in the NFL you could show to a casual fan as a still frame and get an instant, correct answer.
If that ever changes, it will most likely arrive through the Rivalries program, which is expanding by division and has not yet reached the AFC West. We will update this page the day it does.
Frequently Asked Questions
What uniform do the Chiefs wear at home in 2026? The red jersey with white pants and the red helmet, for all eight home games. Kansas City has no home alternate.
Do the Chiefs have an alternate or throwback jersey in 2026? None has been announced. Kansas City has not revealed an alternate or throwback jersey for 2026 and has never adopted an alternate helmet. In practice the set is the red home uniform and the white road uniform, plus the monochrome red combination, which uses the same red jersey rather than a separate one.
When do the Chiefs wear white in 2026? For all nine road games, paired with red pants. That includes Thanksgiving at Buffalo on November 26 and the Thursday game at the Rams on December 3.
Do the Chiefs ever wear all red? Yes. Red pants with the red jersey is the one combination they vary, usually for a prime-time home game. There is no announced date for it in 2026.
Is the full Chiefs 2026 uniform schedule official? The Chiefs do not publish one, because home red and road white covers every game. The grid above follows that convention. Pants are a week-of-game call.
