The pattern is simple once you see it. Every color game is at Mile High, and Summit White does the travelling. We cross-checked the confirmed dates against the opponents' own 2026 schedules, and every Denver home game on this list carries a color, while every confirmed road trip is white. A couple of the Summit White weeks are home dates too, so it is not a hard rule, but the shape holds: color in Denver, white on the road.

Sunset Orange: The Base Set (4 Games)

Orange is the primary and it gets the most home dates, which is correct. Week 2 against Jacksonville, Week 8 against Kansas City, Week 11 against the Raiders, and Week 13 against Miami.

Two of those are division games and one is the Chiefs, which is the right instinct. If you only get a handful of orange games at altitude, spend them on the opponents the building actually cares about. The Week 8 date against Kansas City is the one circled on every calendar in Colorado, and Denver will be in orange for it.

The set itself is the cleanest thing the Broncos have built in the Nike era. The orange is bright without going neon, the navy numbers read at distance, and the whole thing looks like Denver rather than like a template with a horse on it.

Summit White: The Travel Set (9 Games)

Nine games, more than half the season. Weeks 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 15 and 17, including the Monday night opener at Kansas City on ABC and the Black Friday game against Pittsburgh.

There is nothing wrong with the white set. It is well proportioned, the orange trim keeps it from going sterile, and it is a genuinely good road uniform. But nine games is nine games, and it means that for most of the season the answer to "what are the Broncos wearing" is the least interesting one. That is not Denver's fault, it is how the league's home-team-picks-first rule works, and it is the same math that has the Cowboys in white sixteen times a year.

Midnight Navy: The Primetime Play (2 Games)

Denver spent both navy games on the two nights the largest possible audience is watching, and that is smart calendar management. The Rams game is the first home Sunday night game Denver has had since 2023, and the Christmas date is a rematch of a Divisional Round game people are still arguing about. If you are going to break out the second-best thing in the closet, break it out when the audience is biggest.

The set works because it is not a costume. Navy is not a color Denver borrowed for a one-off blackout gimmick, it is a color the team wore as its primary from 1997 through 2011, which covers both Super Bowl wins of the John Elway era and most of what a whole generation of fans grew up on. Peyton Manning threw his record-setting 509th career touchdown pass in navy, and the Broncos beat the Packers on Sunday Night Football in navy during the Super Bowl 50 run.

The execution is clean too. The deep navy base, the orange piping, the 5280 helmet bumper and the number treatment all read from distance, and the set avoids the trap most navy alternates fall into, which is going so dark the whole uniform becomes a silhouette on television. The orange is doing real work. We hold it at an A- rather than an A for one reason: the numbers get slightly lost against the navy at speed. That is a legibility problem, not a taste problem.

The Helmet Is Genuinely Undecided

This is the part worth being precise about, because it is already getting reported wrong.

The announcement graphic shows two players in Midnight Navy, one in a navy helmet and one in a white helmet, and that has been read in a few places as a confirmed split, one helmet per game. It is not. The Broncos' own release says plainly that the team "will announce the corresponding helmet, pant and sock colors ahead of the matchups." Nothing has been assigned to a date.

What the graphic is doing is showing you both options, and both have real precedent:

• In 2024, Denver paired the Summit White helmet with an all-Midnight Navy uniform and beat the Browns in it.
• In 2025, Denver went the other way, pairing its primary metallic satin navy helmet with the same all-blue set against the Bengals.

Denver is 2-0 in Midnight Navy since the Mile High Collection arrived ahead of the 2024 season. Reading the graphic as a schedule is guessing. Reading it as a menu is closer to the truth.

For what it is worth, we think the white helmet is the better of the two. The navy-on-navy version is handsome but it flattens out under stadium lights, and the white shell is what gives the set its contrast and lets the orange do something. If Denver wants the Christmas game to look like an event on Netflix, white is the shell that photographs.

The Orange Crush Throwback: Only Twice, and That Is the Problem

Two games. That is it.

Denver announced them separately, and the wording on the second one tells you the team knows exactly how scarce this is. When the Week 18 date dropped, the Broncos posted it as "dusting off the throwbacks one more time."

Look at what the set actually is. The royal blue helmet with the white "D", the orange jersey with white numbers outlined in blue, white pants, and the striped socks that nobody else in the league is running. It is a complete late-70s package rather than a modern uniform with a retro logo dropped on it, and it photographs beautifully in daylight at altitude.

This is the one real complaint we have with an otherwise well-built schedule. The Orange Crush throwback is the best uniform the Broncos own and one of the best in the league, full stop. It is the rare throwback that does not feel like a costume, because Denver never stopped being that team in the fan base's head. It grades an A from us and we would not argue with anyone who called it higher.

And it gets the same two games as a modern alternate that was invented in 2024.

We understand the constraint. Teams are capped on alternate games, and Denver used its full allotment of four. But the allocation inside that cap was a choice, and splitting it two-and-two treats the throwback and the Midnight Navy as equals. They are not. If you have four alternate games and one of your alternates is a genuine classic, give it three and give the modern one a single primetime slot. The Christmas game would still have been a great navy showcase on its own.

There is a small consolation. The Week 6 throwback is on Thursday Night Football, so at least one of the two lands in a standalone national window rather than getting buried in the 1 p.m. wall. The Week 18 date against the Chargers is scheduled for January 9 or 10, 2027, with the broadcast still to be determined, which means it could end up in a good window or a forgotten one depending on what the season looks like by then.

How the Broncos Rotation Works in 2026

Four things to know and you can answer any week of the season.

1. Color at home, white on the road. Every Denver home game on the published schedule carries a color, and the confirmed road trips are all Summit White. One or two of the white weeks are home dates, so treat it as a strong pattern rather than a law.
2. Sunset Orange is the default home look, and it goes to the games the building cares about most, including the Chiefs in Week 8.
