The New York Jets wear the Classic, their all-white throwback, against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, October 25, at MetLife Stadium (1:00 p.m. ET, CBS), and the field is getting a throwback too. The team posted a rendering on Saturday that replaces the usual midfield logo with the green oval "JETS" logo with the NY behind it and fills both end zones with the italic JETS wordmark, with the oval logo in the corners. It is the Jets' First Responders Appreciation game.
The Uniform, Piece by Piece
The Jets laid out every piece in a graphic on Thursday, October 22, captioned "pulled from the archives," with windows labeled The Classic Helmet, The Classic Jersey and The Classic Pants.
Image: New York Jets
- Helmet: a white shell with a green center stripe split by a thin white line, a gray facemask and the oval logo: "JETS" in white over an outlined NY, with a football at the bottom, on a green oval. The Jets said when they introduced the uniform in July 2024 that the facemask replicates the 1968 headgear and the logo is the one the team used from 1998 to 2018.
- Jersey: white, with green numbers, green and white stripes on the shoulders and sleeves, and a clean front with no patch, which the team called a tribute to the 1968 jersey.
- Pants: white, with a green stripe down the side.
- Socks: white with green stripes.
The green is Legacy Green, the team's current shade, which it describes as a blend of the 1968 Kelly Green and the 1998 to 2018 Hunter Green. The helmet is a separate shell from the all-white White Out helmet the Jets debuted in Week 2, which has a white facemask.

What Changed on the Field
On Saturday morning, October 24, the Jets posted an overhead rendering of the field with the caption "looks familiar" and an eyes emoji.
Compared with the field the Jets have used at home this season, the rendering shows three changes:
- Midfield: the green oval logo with "JETS" in white over the NY and a football, the same logo as the Classic helmet. The regular 2026 field has a white oval with the team's current logo.
- End zones: "JETS" in the slanted, italic wordmark in white on green, in both end zones. The regular field uses the team's current upright wordmark.
- End zone corners: the oval logo replaces the team's current round logo, with the AFC logo in the opposite corner.
The rest is standard: green end zones, white borders, and "It Takes All Of Us" and "Inspire Change" along the end lines, as on the regular field.

One caveat: what the team posted is a rendering, not a photo of the painted turf. We will update this story once the field is shown on game day.
The History of the Look
The Classic reaches back to the Jets' biggest day. On January 12, 1969, at the Orange Bowl in Miami, the Jets beat the Baltimore Colts 16-7 in Super Bowl III, three days after Joe Namath guaranteed a win. Namath was named MVP. The Jets have said the Classic's white jersey and white pants pay homage to what the team wore that day.

The Jets wore white helmets from 1963 through 1977, with two green stripes from 1964 on. In 1978 they moved to green helmets and a new wordmark with a jet silhouette. The oval logo came back in 1998, when Bill Parcells led a return to the team's AFL-era look, and it stayed through 2018. The Classic blends the two eras: the 1960s white helmet, gray facemask and clean jersey, with the 1998 oval on the side.
The uniform debuted on October 14, 2024, against the Bills at MetLife Stadium. It is the fourth uniform in the Jets' closet this season, alongside Legacy Green, Legacy White and the Gotham City Football Rivalries set, and Sunday is its only confirmed date in 2026.
What We Like About It
The field is what makes this one different. Most NFL throwback games stop at the uniform. Here the Jets carry the same oval logo from the helmet to midfield and into the end zone corners, so the whole broadcast picture matches the uniform. The end zones bring back the italic JETS wordmark, and the green oval at midfield is the same logo the players wear on their helmets.
Our Take
We love these throwbacks: the white helmet with the green stripes and the gray facemask, the clean white jersey and the striped socks. And the throwback field ties it together. The same oval logo runs from the helmet to midfield, so the field and the uniform look like one set.
Also Throwing Back This Week
Week 7 is the deepest throwback week of the season so far:
- Atlanta Falcons vs. 49ers (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX): the 1966 throwback, a red helmet, black jersey and white pants. It is the first of two throwback dates, with Week 13 against Detroit the second. The Falcons also swapped in a 1966-style profile picture this week, then changed it after some backlash (our Wire item). Full schedule: Falcons 2026 uniform schedule.
- Seattle Seahawks vs. Chiefs (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC): the royal blue throwback jersey on Sunday Night Football, the second of three primetime dates. See the Seahawks 2026 uniform schedule.

The Bottom Line
The Jets wear the Classic on Sunday against Miami: a white helmet with green stripes and a gray facemask, a white jersey, white pants and striped socks, a nod to the 1968 Super Bowl III team. The team's rendering shows a matching field, with the green oval logo at midfield and the italic JETS in both end zones. Miami is expected in aqua. Every confirmed Jets date is on our Jets 2026 uniform schedule, and we log what was actually worn in the NFL uniform tracker.
