Gotham City Football is the Jets' entry in the NFL x Nike Rivalries program, a dark green jersey with UCLA-style shoulder stripes and gothic numbers, worn under a black gloss helmet with an italic JETS wordmark. It debuted in December 2025 with the AFC East wave and has one date in 2026: the home finale against the New England Patriots on Sunday, December 27.

The shoulder stripes are the best Jets stripes in decades, a real piece of the franchise's 1960s and 1970s look, and the black helmet is a genuine idea rather than a color swap. The trouble is the base. The green is pushed so dark that under stadium lights it reads swamp rather than Jets green, and the comic book theme is doing work a franchise with a good nickname does not need.

3. The Classic

The Classic is a white jersey worn with white pants, a tribute to what the Jets wore against Baltimore in Super Bowl III. The front is clean with no patch, the number and letter fonts come from the 1968 set, and the green trim is Legacy Green. The helmet is the throwback white shell with the green and white center stripe, a gray facemask copied from 1968, and the oval logo the team used from 1998 to 2018. It is confirmed for one game: the First Responders Appreciation game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, October 25.

The helmet is the star here. A gray cage on a white shell with a center stripe is pure 1960s football, and nothing else in the Jets closet looks like it. The jersey underneath is the weaker half. It is handsome and correct, but it is the second white jersey in a four-jersey closet, and with a plain front and white pants, the green has very little space to work with.

It grades a B. Pairing it with a divisional game against Miami is the right call, and a sunny October afternoon is where a white throwback looks its best.

2. Legacy White

Legacy White is the road jersey, with green numbers and the double shoulder stripes the team wore from 1979 to 1989. It opened the season at Tennessee under the green helmet with green pants, and the Jets won 23-10. It projects to all eight road games where the host wears color: at the Titans, Lions, Bears, Patriots, Chiefs, Chargers and Dolphins, and the Week 18 trip to Buffalo. The one road exception is Week 15 at Arizona, where the Cardinals wear white at home and the Jets switch to green.

The color is the whole argument. Nobody else in the NFL wears this shade of green, and in an AFC full of blue, red and navy it reads instantly on a broadcast.
