Detroit's 2026 closet is three uniforms deep, and two of them are the same idea: Honolulu blue and silver, the pairing nobody else in the league can use. The 2024 clean-up gave the Lions sharper numbers and dropped black from the primary set, and it made them one of the best-dressed teams in the NFL. The third uniform is the new one, the silver Rivalries set with carbon-fiber numbers, and it is the only true departure on the Lions jersey schedule 2026 has to offer.
Here is every Detroit Lions jersey and uniform for 2026, ranked worst to first and graded, with the helmet and pants each one pairs with and the weeks it is on the field.
3. Rivalries Uniform
The one new Lions jersey in 2026 is the most interesting thing Detroit has put on a field in years, and it still finishes last here. The jersey is what the Lions call Rivalries Silver, a pale silver rather than bright white, with DETROIT across the chest and italicized numbers filled with a carbon-fiber weave, a nod to the city's car and racing culture. Black comes back as a real accent, the shoulder pattern is meant to mimic a lion's gaze, and "Defend the Den" is stitched on the back neckline.
It pairs with the best part of the set: a metallic electric-blue helmet with glossy carbon-fiber racing stripes and a carbon-fiber lion logo. We ranked it third in the 2026 Rivalries helmet class, and it is the best alternate lid Detroit has ever worn. The team has not said which pants go with it.
The C is the grade we gave it at the August 25 reveal, and the reasoning has not changed. The silver shade and the carbon-fill numbers are real ideas, but strip them out and the jersey is a white shirt with black shoulder wedges and blue trim, a silhouette Carolina already owns. None of the Detroit-specific thinking lives above the waist, where the camera sits. It finished ninth of sixteen in our full Rivalries ranking.
When it is worn in 2026: once, in Week 8 on Sunday, November 1, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, at home against the Vikings at Ford Field. It is the only uniform date the Lions have confirmed, and the set stays in the rotation for three seasons.
2. White Road Uniform
The white road jersey is the home set with the values flipped: Honolulu blue numbers on white, blue and white sleeve stripes, and DETROIT across the chest. The blue does all the work here, and it is up to the job. Honolulu blue is bright enough to carry a white jersey on its own, which is not true of most navy-based road sets in the league.
The pairing is where it loses ground. It goes under the silver helmet, and silver pants are our read for the road. Silver and white sit very close together in value, so from a distance the top and bottom of the uniform blend into one pale shape, with only the numbers and sleeve stripes breaking it up. That is the same issue we flagged when we ranked Detroit in our best NFL uniforms list: we like the silver, but not always how it is used. It grades a B+, a notch below the blue.
When it is worn in 2026: seven road games, all projections from the standard home and road rule. Week 2 at the Bills on Thursday, September 17 (Thursday Night Football), Week 4 at the Panthers, Week 5 at the Cardinals, Week 13 at the Falcons on December 6, Week 15 at the Vikings on December 20, Week 17 at the Bears and Week 18 at the Packers. Carolina, Arizona and Atlanta are all scheduled to host Detroit in black, which gives the white its cleanest contrasts of the year. The Week 15 trip also puts Detroit in white for Minnesota's own Rivalries debut.
1. Honolulu Blue Home Uniform
The Honolulu blue jersey is the best thing Detroit owns, and it is the uniform that makes the whole identity work. White numbers on a blue nobody else in the NFC wears, with silver and white sleeve stripes that tie it to the helmet. The 2024 redesign let the blue and silver carry the uniform the way they did in the 1950s, and it is the rare modern update that made a team look older rather than newer. It shares the A- we gave the Lions in our ranking of every NFL uniform, in an NFC North where the Bears are an A and the Packers, Vikings and Lions all sit at A-.
It pairs with the silver helmet and its blue leaping lion. In Week 1 against New Orleans, Detroit went silver helmet, blue jersey and blue pants, one column of Honolulu blue with silver on top. The Saints came in gold, white and black, and gold against Honolulu blue turned out to be a strong broadcast pairing. The matchup graded a B+ on our NFL uniform tracker, and the Lions won 31-30.
What keeps it from an A is the silver. It is a great color on the helmet, and it gets less out of the sleeve stripes than a bolder, more throwback treatment would. A small change there would move Detroit up the league list quickly.
When it is worn in 2026: nine games. Seven are at Ford Field, in Weeks 1 (Saints, worn), 3 (Jets), 7 (Packers), 11 (Buccaneers), 12 (Bears, Thanksgiving, November 26), 14 (Titans) and 16 (Giants, Monday night). The eighth is Week 10 against the Patriots in Munich on November 15, where Detroit is the designated home team. The ninth is Week 9 at Miami on November 8, because the Dolphins are at home in white and the visitor has to wear color.

The Bottom Line on the Lions Jersey Rankings
Detroit's primaries are the reason this team went from one of the worst-dressed clubs in the league to one of the best. Honolulu blue is an A- that nobody else can copy, and the white road set is a B+ held back only by how much silver it stacks next to white.
The Rivalries uniform is the swing, and it lands at a C. The silver base and the electric-blue carbon helmet are genuinely good ideas, but the jersey shape underneath does not say Detroit. The good news is that the Lions wear it once, and they spend the other sixteen games in two uniforms that already do.
Frequently Asked Questions
What jerseys do the Lions have in 2026?
Three are on the 2026 schedule: the Honolulu blue home jersey, the white road jersey, and the new silver Rivalries uniform, which Detroit wears once, on November 1 against the Vikings.
What is the best Lions jersey?
We rank the Honolulu blue home jersey first with an A-. It pairs white numbers and silver sleeve stripes with a blue nobody else in the NFC uses, under the silver helmet, and it is the base of the whole identity.
What jersey are the Lions wearing this week?
In Week 2, Detroit plays at the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, September 17, on Thursday Night Football, the first regular-season game at the new Highmark Stadium. The Lions are projected in the white road jersey under the silver helmet, with silver pants as our read, against Buffalo's confirmed white helmet, royal blue jersey and white pants. That is a projection until kickoff. In Week 1 against the Saints, Detroit wore the silver helmet, blue jersey and blue pants.
Do the Lions have a new jersey in 2026?
Yes, one. The Rivalries uniform was revealed on August 25: a silver jersey with a DETROIT wordmark, italicized carbon-fiber numbers, black and blue accents, "Defend the Den" on the back neckline, and a metallic electric-blue helmet with carbon-fiber stripes and a carbon-fiber lion logo. We grade it a C.
When do the Lions wear the Rivalries uniform?
Once in 2026, in Week 8 on Sunday, November 1, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, at home against the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field. It stays in the rotation for three seasons. Minnesota debuts its own Rivalries set against Detroit in Week 15 on December 20.
Will the Lions wear the black alternate in 2026?
No date has been announced. Detroit still owns a black alternate jersey, but it is not on the 2026 uniform schedule, and the Rivalries uniform appears to have taken the alternate slot this season. We have left it out of this ranking and will add it if the Lions bring it out.
Uniform dates via the Detroit Lions and NFL.com. The Week 8 Rivalries game is the only team-confirmed date; home blue and road white assignments are our projection.
