The Browns have one of the more interesting alternate closets in the AFC and, as of now, no announced date for any of it. Cleveland has published its 2026 schedule but not a uniform schedule, so this page gives you the week-by-week grid on the standard rule, the three alternate looks that could appear, and the games where each one actually makes sense. Everything projected is labelled as projected.

The Full 2026 Browns Uniform Schedule, Week by Week
Eight home games at Huntington Bank Field, nine on the road, and a Week 11 bye.
No game on that grid is a confirmed uniform assignment. Cleveland has not published a uniform schedule for 2026. The grid follows the standard rule, brown at home and white on the road, which is what the Browns do in every game they do not designate otherwise.
The Browns Closet in 2026
Cleveland is unusual. Most teams have one alternate; the Browns have effectively three routes out of the base uniform, and two of them are helmets rather than jerseys.
The brown home set. Orange helmet, brown jersey, and a choice of white or brown pants. This is the base and it is the correct one. The orange helmet is the most recognisable thing the franchise owns, largely because it is the only logo-free helmet in the league and has been for most of eighty years.
The white road set. Same helmet, white jersey, usually with white or brown pants.
Alpha Dawg. The all-brown look, built around a brown alternate helmet rather than the orange one. It is effectively the descendant of the 2016 Color Rush, with the helmet finally matching the rest of it, and it is the loudest thing Cleveland puts on a field.
The white alternate helmet. Introduced in 2023 and worn with the white jersey and orange pants. It is the quietest of the alternates and the one that looks least like the Browns, which is either the point or the problem depending on who you ask.
League rules cap alternate helmets at three games a season, and Alpha Dawg and the white shell both draw from that allowance.
Where the Alternates Actually Fit
None of this is announced. What follows is a read on the schedule, not a report, and it is not on the grid above.
Week 4 against Pittsburgh on Thursday night is the obvious Alpha Dawg game. It is Cleveland's only home primetime date all season, it is the game the franchise cares most about, and an all-brown uniform under lights against a black-and-gold opponent is about as strong a frame as the AFC North produces.
Week 13 against Cincinnati is the other candidate, a Sunday afternoon division game in December, though it lacks the primetime hook.
Week 12 against Las Vegas matters for a different reason: the white alternate helmet with white jersey and orange pants made its debut against the Raiders in 2025. A repeat is the sort of small symmetry clubs like.
If any of these get named, they go on this page the day it happens.
Brown at Huntington Bank Field (8 Games)
Weeks 3, 4, 6, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 17. Carolina in the home opener, Pittsburgh on Thursday night, Baltimore in Week 6, Houston in Week 10, then a four-game December run of Las Vegas, Cincinnati, Atlanta and Indianapolis.
The brown-and-orange combination has no real competition for strangeness in American sport, and it works because nobody has ever tried to modernise it into something else. Brown is a colour teams do not choose, which is exactly why it belongs to Cleveland completely.
White on the Road (9 Games)
Weeks 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16 and 18. The Week 8 trip to Pittsburgh and the Week 16 trip to Baltimore are the two that matter, and Cleveland will be in white for both, against black and against purple respectively.
Is the 1946 Throwback Coming Back?
Nothing has been announced, and there is a rules complication worth knowing about: the 1946 throwback set has already been worn the maximum number of times the league permits without a waiver. Cleveland would need the NFL to grant one for the uniform to return.
We are not going to put it on the grid. If a waiver is granted and a date is named, it goes here.
How the Browns Rotation Works in 2026
- Brown at home, white on the road, unless the team designates otherwise.
- No alternate date has been announced for Alpha Dawg, the white helmet, or a throwback.
- Alternate helmets are capped at three games, and Cleveland has two of them.
- The 1946 throwback needs a league waiver to appear again.
- Pants and helmet combinations are a week-of call, as they are for every club.
The Bottom Line
Cleveland owns the best base uniform in the AFC North and spends a lot of energy trying to get away from it. The orange helmet and the brown jersey need nothing, and the fact that the franchise keeps building alternate helmets around a shell that is already the most distinctive in the league is the running joke of the whole wardrobe.
That said, Alpha Dawg is genuinely good, and it has an obvious home this year in the Thursday night game against Pittsburgh. Nothing is announced yet. When it is, this page gets updated.
Frequently Asked Questions
What jersey are the Browns wearing today?
Brown if Cleveland is at Huntington Bank Field, white if they are on the road. No alternate has been assigned to a specific 2026 game.
What jerseys are the Browns wearing this week?
Same rule. Check whether Cleveland is home or away in the grid above. Home is brown, away is white.
What uniform did the Browns wear last week?
For the uniform we logged in their most recent game, see the NFL uniform tracker, which we update through the week. The grid above is the season plan; the tracker is the record of what actually went on the field.
When do the Browns wear the Alpha Dawg uniform in 2026?
No date has been announced. The Week 4 Thursday night game against Pittsburgh is the only home primetime slot on the schedule and the most likely candidate, but that is our read, not a team announcement.
What is the Browns Alpha Dawg uniform?
The all-brown look built around a brown alternate helmet instead of the standard orange one. It is the successor to the 2016 Color Rush uniform, with the helmet now matching the jersey and pants.
Do the Browns have a white helmet?
Yes. Cleveland introduced a white alternate helmet in 2023, worn with the white jersey and orange pants. It counts against the league's three-game alternate helmet allowance.
Will the Browns wear their 1946 throwbacks in 2026?
Nothing has been announced, and the set has already reached the maximum number of appearances the league allows without a waiver. Cleveland would need the NFL to grant one.
How many uniforms do the Browns have in 2026?
Two with games assigned, the brown home set and the white road set, plus the Alpha Dawg all-brown look and the white alternate helmet, neither of which has a date.
