The Cowboys run their uniforms backwards from the rest of the league, and they have done it for so long that it reads as tradition rather than defiance. Dallas wears white at home, which means the navy jersey most people picture is actually the road set and shows up less often than you would guess. Add the 1960s Thanksgiving throwback, which has owned the holiday four years running, and you have the whole 2026 closet. Here is the Cowboys uniform schedule week by week.

The Full 2026 Cowboys Uniform Schedule, Week by Week
Nine home games in white, eight road games in navy, the Thanksgiving throwback against Philadelphia, and a Week 14 bye.
Dallas has not released a game-by-game uniform schedule for 2026, so the white-home and navy-road assignments follow the convention the club has kept for decades. The Thanksgiving throwback is marked with a ★ as a projection, not a confirmation: the Cowboys have worn it on four straight Thanksgivings, which makes it close to a certainty, but the team has not formally announced it for 2026. Pants and helmet combinations are a week-of-game call.
The White Home Set (9 Games)
The white jersey with the metallic-silver-blue pants is the uniform Dallas has built its identity on, and it draws all nine home dates. That includes the Week 2 home opener against Washington on September 20, a Thursday-night game against Tampa Bay in Week 5, the Week 10 visit from San Francisco, and a New Year's weekend date with the Giants in Week 17.
The white set is the better of the two primaries and it is not particularly close. The navy star on the white shell, the blue-and-white sleeve stripe, and the silver-blue pants make a combination nobody else in the league is running, and the fact that Dallas insists on wearing it at home means the good version is the one their own crowd sees.
The Navy Road Set (8 Games)
The navy jersey with silver pants goes on the road eight times, opening the season at the Giants on September 13 and closing it at Washington in Week 18. Between those are the two most interesting road looks of the year: Week 6 at Green Bay on October 18 and Week 7 at Philadelphia on Monday, October 26, back-to-back trips into the two best-dressed buildings in the NFC.
There is an old superstition around the navy jersey being unlucky for Dallas. We have no opinion on that. What we will say is that the navy is the plainer of the two sets, because the silver-blue that makes the home whites distinctive gets swapped for a flatter silver, and the shoulder stripe loses most of its contrast against the darker base.
The Thanksgiving Throwback (Week 12, Projected)
The best uniform Dallas owns comes out once a year. The 1960s throwback pairs a white helmet with the navy jersey, oversized stars on the white shoulder yoke, solid block numbers, and white pants with twin navy stripes. The Cowboys have worn it on Thanksgiving in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, and 2026 puts Philadelphia at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, November 26.
If it happens, and everything about the pattern says it will, it is the marquee uniform game of the Dallas season. The white helmet is the whole trick: it removes the silver that anchors every other Cowboys look and leaves a cleaner, older, more graphic uniform underneath.
The other half of the frame is genuinely open. Because Dallas wears white at home, a visiting team is free to bring a coloured jersey to AT&T Stadium, and Philadelphia used exactly that loophole in 2025 to wear Kelly Green on a trip to Dallas, the first road wearing since the throwback returned. The Eagles have not announced their 2026 Kelly Green dates, but if they repeat it on Thanksgiving, this becomes a 1960s Cowboys throwback against a 1990s Eagles throwback on the biggest audience of the season. See our Eagles 2026 uniform schedule for where we think the Kelly Greens land.
The Arctic White Helmet
Dallas added an all-white helmet combination on Christmas Day 2025, pairing the Arctic White shell with the navy jersey and white pants. It is a separate look from the Thanksgiving throwback, which uses a different white helmet with the classic stripe. No 2026 date has been announced. If the club brings it back, a nationally televised December game is the natural slot, which points at Week 15 at the Rams or Week 16 against Jacksonville.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do the Cowboys wear white at home? It is a Dallas tradition going back decades. Most NFL teams wear their coloured jersey at home and white on the road; the Cowboys do the opposite, which is why the navy jersey is their road set and appears less often than the white.
When do the Cowboys wear the Thanksgiving throwback in 2026? The Thanksgiving game is Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, November 26. Dallas has worn the 1960s throwback on each of the last four Thanksgivings, but the team has not officially confirmed it for 2026.
What is the Cowboys Thanksgiving throwback uniform? A 1960s-inspired set: white helmet, navy jersey with oversized stars on the white shoulder yoke, block numbers, and white pants with two navy stripes.
How many uniforms do the Cowboys have in 2026? Three looks: the white home uniform, the navy road uniform, and the Thanksgiving throwback. The Arctic White helmet combination is a fourth variation on the navy jersey rather than a separate jersey.
Is the full Cowboys 2026 uniform schedule official? No. Dallas has not published a game-by-game schedule. The white-home and navy-road assignments follow the club's long-standing convention, and the Thanksgiving throwback is a projection based on four consecutive years.
