SMU goes full Dallas against Cal, Stanford goes all red on Friday night, UCF calls its black Homecoming set "Drip U" against No. 2 BYU, and No. 21 Boise State brings a white helmet to Pullman. On the field, No. 7 Ole Miss visits No. 19 Texas, Texas A&M visits No. 13 Alabama and No. 14 Houston closes the night at No. 10 Utah.

It is a white helmet with the orange and green U and an orange center stripe trimmed in green, an orange jersey with white numbers trimmed in green and green trim on the shoulders and sleeves, and white pants with a green and orange stripe down the side. The graphic puts the new set next to photos of the 2001 team in the same look, under the line "25 years later, the 2001 uniform represents the Miami brand."
Our take: this is the right throwback for this team. The 2001 Hurricanes are the standard every Miami roster gets measured against, and this year's team is 6-0 and No. 1. The uniform is not a costume either. It is Miami's own colors in the cleanest arrangement the program has ever worn, and the white helmet with the stripe looks better than anything on the current rotation. Pitt: not posted yet. Kansas State at Arizona State: Enter the Eclipse

Michigan State at No. 9 UCLA: Powder Blue for Homecoming
Saturday, 3:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. Pacific), CBS, at the Rose Bowl. UCLA: Confirmed, powder blue Homecoming set. UCLA posted "Homecoming threads" with Jordan Brand on Wednesday. The photos show a lighter powder blue jersey with white shoulder stripes and white numbers, gold pants and the gold helmet with a gray facemask. That is the powder blue look honoring the 1954 national champions, the same idea UCLA wore for Homecoming in 2023 and 2025, with white stripes where the regular home jersey has gold.
Our take: we have been waiting on this one since August. The regular blue and gold home set is great, but the powder blue with white stripes is the UCLA uniform people picture when they close their eyes, and the gold pants keep it from looking washed out. Oregon at Illinois: Military Helmet vs. Yellow Wings
Saturday, 3 p.m. (2 p.m. Central), BTN. Illinois: Confirmed, military appreciation helmet. Illinois posted "Honoring service. Recognizing sacrifice." on Wednesday with four photos of the helmet: orange with the arched ILLINI wordmark in navy and white, an American flag decal on each side, a navy, white and navy center stripe and a white facemask with flag details. The back is the best part. A white rear bumper carries the seals of the military branches, including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Space Force, with a POW/MIA emblem and an outline of the state of Illinois above it. The jersey and pants are not shown yet. It is Illinois' Military Appreciation weekend.

Oregon posted its "Game 7 uniform combo" on Wednesday: a yellow helmet with green chrome wings and a yellow facemask, MIGHTY OREGON on the back bumper, a white jersey with green numbers trimmed in yellow and the Duck on the shoulder, and white pants. Cal at No. 23 SMU: Putting On for the Triple D
Saturday, noon (11 a.m. Central), The CW. SMU: Confirmed, Dallas set. SMU posted "Putting on for the Triple D" on Wednesday night with photos shot around downtown Dallas. The helmet is white with blue stripes down the middle, a blue facemask and a new side logo: the red Peruna inside a big blue D. The jersey is royal blue with Dallas in white script across the chest and white numbers, and the pants are white with a blue stripe.
Our take: Dallas across the chest works for a school whose campus sits in University Park, surrounded on all sides by Dallas, and the royal blue is SMU's best color.
