The App State 2026 Uniform Sets

The current look is the one App State showed off in its 2024 uniform drop, and the appeal is how little it tries to do. The numerals are a clean block with a gold outline, the shoulder stripes are two thin gold bars, and the pants carry a small gold A on the hip. Nothing is chrome. Nothing is a gradient. It is a black and gold uniform that looks like a black and gold uniform, which in the Sun Belt is its own kind of statement.

The helmet is where App State gets its only real decision each week, because the mountain A logo reads completely differently on a black shell than on a white one. On black it is a gold stamp you can see from the top row of Kidd Brewer Stadium. September 12 at East Carolina. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, white jersey, white pants, the road whiteout against a purple home team, which is the best color clash App State gets outside the Sun Belt. September 19 vs. Charlotte. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: black helmet with the gold mark, black jersey with gold numerals, black pants, head to toe black for Black Saturday (Under the Lights). Nothing new appeared, so the helmet we were watching for turned out to be the standard black shell. The game was delayed and moved to a 9 p.m. Eastern kickoff, and App State won 26-21 after Charlotte scored twice in the fourth. Charlotte wore white.

September 26. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast at NC State: black helmet with the gold A, white jersey, black pants, with the Wolfpack in red over red. October 10 vs. Old Dominion. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: black helmet, black jersey, black pants, all black for Homecoming at Kidd Brewer Stadium, as expected, on a rainy and foggy 1 p.m. afternoon on ESPN+. Old Dominion wore a light blue helmet and light blue pants, and its jersey was not clear in the frames we saw. Old Dominion won 10-3, scoring all 10 of its points in the second half, and App State's only points came on a third quarter field goal. The Mountaineers fell to 3-2.

October 16 at Coastal Carolina, 8 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2. ★ Confirmed by the team in its Splash Warning post: black helmet, black jersey, gold pants. That is the black jersey on the road instead of the white we expected, with gold pants we had not seen yet this season. Coastal Carolina wears its limited edition '90s uniform for its annual "Wait 'Til You See This" game: a white jersey with COASTAL in a teal graffiti script and '90s confetti graphics, with a teal helmet and teal pants. October 31 at Georgia Southern. White expected. Halloween in Statesboro.

November 7 vs. Georgia State. Black expected. Heroes Day, which App State builds around military, veterans and first responders, and historically the program leans into the day with its messaging rather than a costume uniform.

November 14 at Marshall. White expected. This is the heaviest date on the schedule for reasons that have nothing to do with App State: Marshall hosts its annual Play For The 75 game on the exact anniversary of the 1970 plane crash, and the Thundering Herd will be in black at home. App State goes as the visitor in white.

November 21 vs. ULM. Black expected. Senior Day and the last home game of the year.

November 27 at South Alabama. White expected. A Friday afternoon finale in Mobile, 3 p.m. Eastern.
