Iowa State Uniform Schedule 2026: Every Jersey and When the Cyclones Wear It

Iowa State wears a cardinal jersey with white pants at Jack Trice Stadium and a white jersey with white pants on the road, both under the cardinal Cyclones script helmet. That covered the first three games of 2026: cardinal over white in the 38-10 opener against Southeast Missouri, all white under the cardinal lid in the 16-13 loss at Iowa, and cardinal over white again in the 55-7 win over Bowling Green. Since then Iowa State has worn the all white Whiteout against Utah and all cardinal for Homecoming against West Virginia. This is the full Iowa State 2026 uniform schedule, with every jersey and a week-by-week outlook for all twelve games in Jimmy Rogers' first season. We update this page as each combination is confirmed.

The Iowa State 2026 Uniform Sets

The current closet comes from the Nike redesign of 2024, which gave Iowa State four uniforms: cardinal home, white road, and black and white alternates. The bigger change came on the helmet. Iowa State brought back the Cyclones script midway through 2024, a nod to the lids of 1987 to 1994, then unveiled a cardinal version in June 2025 and wore a script helmet in every game of 2025 through November, per the Iowa State Daily. The block I-State logo, the primary mark from 2008 through 2023, still has a cardinal helmet but has not been the default since. Rogers arrived from Washington State with 83 newcomers on the roster, and the wardrobe has not changed with him. Both jerseys also carry the Big 12 chest patch, which in 2026 includes a Monster Energy logo. Big 12 home teams wear color and visitors wear white, so every date below follows that rule until Iowa State announces otherwise.

The Full Iowa State 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week

September 5 vs. Southeast Missouri. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: cardinal Cyclones script helmet, cardinal jersey, white pants, the standard home look for Rogers' debut on a muggy afternoon in Ames. The white facemasks and the white and gold center stripe in the ESPN+ frames mark it as the script helmet, not the I-State helmet, which has a cardinal facemask. Iowa State won 38-10, with Jaylen Raynor accounting for four touchdowns and the defense logging six sacks.

September 12 at Iowa. ★ Confirmed from game photos: cardinal Cyclones script helmet, white jersey, white pants. The white jersey carries cardinal numerals outlined in gold and cardinal and gold sleeve stripes. Per the pregame report, it was the first time since 2012 that Iowa State wore all white in the Cy-Hawk game. Iowa answered with its all-black alternate for the prime-time NBC game at Kinnick Stadium, so the night was cardinal and white against solid black, and we have the Hawkeyes' side on the Iowa 2026 uniform schedule. Iowa won 16-13 on a 42-yard field goal with 15 seconds left, after Iowa State had won the previous two meetings on late kicks of its own.

September 19 vs. Bowling Green. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: cardinal helmet, cardinal jersey, white pants, the same home look Iowa State opened the season in, for an 11 a.m. Central kickoff on ESPNU. Bowling Green answered in a white helmet and white jersey over orange pants, which gave Jack Trice Stadium a clean cardinal against white read. Iowa State won 55-7 in the last nonconference game before Big 12 play.

September 26 vs. Utah. ★ Confirmed by Iowa State: the Whiteout, all white with black lettering and accents, the script Cyclones helmet and black stripes across the shoulders. We had cardinal down. The Big 12 opener at Jack Trice Stadium, 2:30 p.m. Central on FOX. Confirmed on the broadcast too: white helmet, white jersey, white pants, against Utah in all red. Utah led 24-3 at the half, Iowa State pulled within 24-17 in the fourth quarter, and the Utes won 31-17. The Cyclones are 2-2. Utah is on the Utah 2026 uniform schedule.

October 3 vs. West Virginia, noon ET on TNT. ★ Confirmed by Iowa State: cardinal helmet, cardinal jersey, cardinal pants, all cardinal, revealed as the "homecoming threads." The helmet is the cardinal shell with "Cyclones" in script on the side, the script look that has been the default for three seasons. It is the first time this season Iowa State has gone cardinal on the pants too, after white pants in every color game so far, so Homecoming gets the one change we were watching for. West Virginia has also confirmed its look: white helmet, white jersey and navy pants. That is cardinal head to toe against white over navy at Jack Trice Stadium. The Mountaineers' side is on the West Virginia 2026 uniform schedule. ★ Confirmed from the game photos: Iowa State wore the cardinal helmet, cardinal jersey and cardinal pants it announced, and West Virginia wore the white helmet, white jersey and navy pants. Iowa State held on to win 45-42 on Homecoming and moved to 3-2.

October 31 vs. Oklahoma State. Cardinal expected. A Halloween game in Ames, with Oklahoma State expected in white.

November 7 at Baylor. White expected. It is Baylor's homecoming at McLane Stadium, which usually means a green-heavy look from the Bears.

November 14 vs. Cincinnati. Cardinal expected.

November 20 at UCF. White expected. A Friday game at the Acrisure Bounce House in Orlando, 5 p.m. Central on FS1.

November 28 vs. Kansas State. Cardinal expected. Farmageddon closes the regular season at Jack Trice Stadium, a rematch of the game that opened 2025 in Dublin. Kansas State is expected in white on the Kansas State 2026 uniform schedule, and the last home game of the season.

The Bottom Line

Through the first three games, Iowa State wore a cardinal helmet every week and changed only the jersey: cardinal at home, white on the road, white pants every time. That fits a program that just replaced almost its entire roster and kept the closet the way it was. The script helmet is now the default for a third straight season, the all white Whiteout came out against Utah, and the black alternate from the 2024 Nike set has not shown up yet. Homecoming against West Virginia was where the pants changed: all cardinal, script helmet, cardinal jersey and cardinal pants, in a 45-42 win. The cardinal pants stayed on for the trip to BYU, this time under the white jersey, in a 24-10 loss. The Halloween game against Oklahoma State is the next home date to watch. The grid above has every date, and we add a star as each uniform is confirmed.
