Kansas Uniform Schedule 2026: Every Jersey and When the Jayhawks Wear It

Kansas has blue, white, red and black jerseys, two helmets, and a habit of mixing them without much warning. This is the full Kansas 2026 uniform schedule: the blue home set, the white road set, the red alternate that showed up in the Border War and again against Middle Tennessee, the black jersey it wore at Utah on October 10, and a week-by-week outlook for all twelve games, including the first college football game ever played at Wembley Stadium. We update this page as each combination is confirmed.

The Kansas 2026 Uniform Sets

The base sets date to the adidas redesign of 2023, which retired the Trajan lettering the whole athletic department had used since 2007 and replaced it with a bold all-caps KANSAS and the red-edged shoulder stripes. Since then the program has added one alternate a year: the black Blackhawk in 2023, an all-red look and a light-blue set in 2024, and the Whitehawk in 2025 with the 1941 bird on the helmet. We have not seen a 2026 alternate announced yet. The black jersey Kansas wore at Utah on October 10 is the one look so far outside the blue, white and red sets. Big 12 home teams wear color and visitors wear white, which makes every road date predictable and every home date a question of which color.

The Full Kansas 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week

September 4 vs. Long Island. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: blue helmet, blue jersey, white pants, the most traditional combination in the closet for a Friday night opener at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Kansas won 51-6. One calendar note: ESPN files this game under September 5 because its feed runs on UTC and a 7 p.m. Central kickoff lands past midnight in London. The correct local date is Friday, September 4.

September 11 vs. Missouri. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, red jersey, red pants, the red alternate under the white shell for the Border War in Lawrence. Missouri was the visitor and won 38-21; what the Tigers wore that night is unconfirmed on our side, and we will star it on the Missouri 2026 uniform schedule once we can see it in a frame. Same calendar quirk as the opener: ESPN lists this game under September 12 because of UTC. It was played Friday, September 11.

September 19 vs. Arizona State, Wembley Stadium, London. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: blue helmet, blue jersey, blue pants, the full blue-on-blue-on-blue for the Union Jack Classic, the first college football game ever played at Wembley. The shell carries the Jayhawk with a red facemask, and the jersey reads KANSAS across the chest in white with red trim. Kansas was the designated home team, and Arizona State answered in a gold Sparky helmet and white jersey, which is on the Arizona State 2026 uniform schedule. Kansas lost 24-17.

September 26. Bye.

October 3 vs. Middle Tennessee. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet with the Jayhawk, red jersey, blue pants. We had blue down, so this one is a correction: back in Lawrence after the London trip and the off week, Kansas went with red. Middle Tennessee wore a silver helmet, white jersey and white pants. Dylan Edwards ran for 137 yards and three touchdowns, Kansas outgained the Blue Raiders 706-136, and the 55-0 win was the program's first shutout since 2008. The Jayhawks are 2-2.

October 10 at Utah. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: black jersey with KANSAS across the chest, black pants. The helmet was not clear enough in the frames we saw to name its color. We had white down for the first Big 12 road game, so this one is a correction. Utah wore all white at Rice-Eccles Stadium; the Utes' side is on our Utah 2026 uniform schedule. Kansas trailed 21-17 at halftime, Utah scored 14 in the fourth quarter, and the Jayhawks lost 41-24 to fall to 2-3. Kickoff was 8 p.m. Eastern on ESPNEWS.

October 17 at Kansas State. White expected. The Sunflower Showdown in Manhattan, and Kansas in white against a purple home side is one of the better color clashes on the conference calendar.

October 24 vs. Baylor. Blue expected. Homecoming weekend is the traditional slot for an alternate if one exists, so this is the home date we are watching most closely.

October 31 at TCU. White expected. Halloween in Fort Worth, and the last time Kansas visited Amon G. Carter Stadium in 2024 it went all red. Visitor rules say white this time.

November 7 vs. UCF. Blue expected.

November 14 at West Virginia. White expected. A November trip to Morgantown.

November 21 vs. BYU. Blue expected. Senior Day and the final home game of the season.

November 28 at Oklahoma State. White expected. Regular season finale in Stillwater.

The Bottom Line

Five games in, the confirmed jerseys are blue, red and black, with both helmets in use and the white road jersey still to come. Blue is the default at home, and the red set is the wild card that appears when the program wants a night to feel different. The Border War and Middle Tennessee got the red, Wembley got the standard blue set head to toe, and the first Big 12 road game at Utah got black jerseys and black pants instead of the white we expected. The question now is whether homecoming against Baylor gets something else. The grid above has every date, and we fill in the stars as each uniform is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What jersey is Kansas wearing this week?

Kansas wore a black jersey with KANSAS across the chest and black pants at Utah on Saturday, October 10, confirmed from the broadcast. The helmet was not clear enough in the frames we saw to name its color. The Jayhawks lost 41-24 and are 2-3. A week earlier they wore the white helmet with the Jayhawk, red jersey and blue pants in a 55-0 win over Middle Tennessee. Next is the Sunflower Showdown at Kansas State on October 17, where white is expected. The week-by-week grid above lists every game with the expected set, and we update it as combinations are confirmed.

What are Kansas's football uniforms for 2026?

A blue home jersey with white numerals outlined in red and red-edged shoulder stripes, a white road jersey with the same design in blue, and a red alternate jersey with red pants. The helmets are a blue shell with the Jayhawk on both sides and a white shell with a thick blue center stripe edged in red. All of it comes from adidas and dates to the 2023 redesign.

Does Kansas have a new alternate uniform in 2026?

Not that has been announced. Kansas did wear a black jersey and black pants at Utah on October 10. Kansas has introduced one alternate a year since 2023, the Blackhawk, the all-red and light-blue looks, and the Whitehawk, so a 2026 addition would fit the pattern. We will add it to this page if and when it is revealed.

Why does ESPN list the Missouri game on September 12?

ESPN's schedule feed runs on UTC. A 7 p.m. Central kickoff on Friday, September 11 is already Saturday in London, so the game shows a September 12 date there. The opener against Long Island shows the same one-day shift. Both were Friday night games.

How many games does Kansas play in 2026?

Twelve regular season games: six at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, five on the road in the Big 12, and one neutral-site game against Arizona State at Wembley Stadium in London, with a bye on September 26. The full schedule with expected uniforms is in the grid above.
