Virginia Uniform Schedule 2026: Every Jersey and When the Cavaliers Wear It

Virginia has three jersey colors, two helmets and a staff that treats every Saturday as a fresh decision. This is the full Virginia 2026 uniform schedule: the orange home set, the all navy look, the white road jersey, the helmet rotation, and a week by week outlook for all twelve games, including a Duke's Mayo Classic trip to Charlotte in a combination straight out of the 1980s. We update this page as each uniform is confirmed.

The Virginia 2026 Uniform Sets

The current Nike package is an update rather than a rebuild. Virginia rolled out enhanced uniforms in July 2024, and head coach Tony Elliott framed the shoulder stripes as the piece that ties the whole thing to the program's history, which is a polite way of saying the Cavaliers are not interested in chasing trends. The two helmets came first, in 2022, when Virginia went back to a clean navy shell with the V-Sabre on both sides and a white shell with an orange and blue center stripe.

What that leaves is a wardrobe with real range. Orange, navy and white jerseys, orange, navy and white pants, and two helmets add up to a lot of Saturdays that look different from each other. ACC home teams wear color and visitors wear white, so every road date on this schedule points to the white jersey and every home date is a question of which color and which helmet. Virginia has already used three completely different looks in three games at Scott Stadium.

The Full Virginia 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week

August 29 vs. NC State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, orange jersey, orange pants, for a Paint the Town Orange season opener at Scott Stadium. Virginia won 34-8 and the orange on orange read as loud as the theme suggested. NC State countered with its red helmet, white jersey and red pants, and the smaller Tuffy decal on that red shell was the talking point of the night. More on the visitor in our NC State 2026 uniform schedule.

September 5. Bye. Virginia opened in Week 0, so the first off week landed before most of the country had played a game.

September 11 vs. Norfolk State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: navy helmet, navy jersey, navy pants, the full monochrome look, in a 59-3 win. This was the rarest thing in the wardrobe. Outside of throwbacks, Virginia had not gone navy on navy on navy in 24 games, the last time being against Maryland in September 2024. The date is worth noting too, because this was originally a Saturday game and moved up to Friday night.

September 19 vs. West Virginia, Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte. ★ Confirmed on the field from the broadcast: white helmet, orange jersey, white pants, exactly as announced. Virginia posted the combination in the simplest possible language, three emoji in helmet, jersey, pants order, and left it there. West Virginia came in the navy helmet with the gold Flying WV, white jersey and gold pants as the designated visitor in the Duke's Mayo Classic, and won 38-27.

This is the Duke's Mayo Classic, a 7:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff on ACC Network, and Virginia is the designated home team on neutral ground, which is why the Cavaliers are in color and West Virginia is expected in white. The combination itself is the story. White over orange over white is the look the program wore through the 1980s, it had not appeared in Virginia's previous nine games, and the Cavaliers leaned into that when they rolled the photos out the next day.

There is history in the building as well. Virginia's last trip to Bank of America Stadium was the 2025 ACC Championship Game, an overtime loss to Duke. These two programs have not met since the 2002 Continental Tire Bowl. West Virginia had not posted its combination as of Thursday, and our West Virginia 2026 uniform schedule tracks that side.

September 26 vs. Delaware. ★ Confirmed pregame and confirmed from the broadcast: navy helmet with the V-Sabre, navy jersey, white pants for the UVA Strong game. Virginia revealed the look by showing the patches honoring Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler and D'Sean Perry. Delaware came in white. Beau Pribula completed his first 11 passes, threw four touchdowns, two of them to Kam Courtney, and ran for a fifth, and Virginia won 42-3 at Scott Stadium to move to 3-1.

October 3 at Florida State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet with an orange stripe, white jersey, navy pants. Florida State wore the gold helmet, garnet jersey and garnet pants for its Cancer Awareness game. Virginia scored first, but Ashton Daniels ran for five touchdowns, a Florida State quarterback record, and the Seminoles had 10 sacks in a 38-7 win. Virginia fell to 3-2. See our Florida State 2026 uniform schedule for the home side.

October 10 vs. Syracuse. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, navy jersey, white pants, 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ACC Network. Home color was expected, and Virginia went navy rather than orange. Syracuse wore the orange helmet, white jersey and orange pants. The Orange led 17-7 at halftime, Virginia scored 14 in the fourth quarter, and the Cavaliers won 28-25 to move to 4-2. Details on the visitor in our Syracuse 2026 uniform schedule.

October 17 at SMU, noon Eastern on The CW. ★ Confirmed by Virginia: all white, white helmet, white jersey, white pants. SMU is confirmed in its classic look, white helmet, blue jersey and white pants, for its Salute to Service and Hall of Fame game. Every look this week is in our Week 7 uniform guide. The long trip of the season and Virginia's only game in Texas.

October 23 vs. Duke. Home color expected, 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. This is the home date we are watching hardest. Friday night at Scott Stadium is exactly the slot Virginia used for its 1995 throwbacks last season against Florida State, navy jerseys with the old V sleeve detail, white pants and navy helmets, and it is also a rematch of the ACC title game. If there is a special uniform on this schedule, this is the most likely night for it. Our Duke 2026 uniform schedule has the visitor.

October 31 at Wake Forest. White expected. Halloween in Winston-Salem against a team that wears black at home, which makes this the highest contrast matchup on the schedule.

November 7. Bye.

November 14 vs. California. Home color expected. Cal makes the cross country trip in November.

November 21 vs. North Carolina. Home color expected. The last home game of the season and the Senior Day slot, which is another traditional spot for an alternate. Our North Carolina 2026 uniform schedule covers the visitor.

November 28 at Virginia Tech. White expected. The Commonwealth Clash at Lane Stadium, with the Hokies in maroon. See our Virginia Tech 2026 uniform schedule.

The Bottom Line

Six games in, Virginia has worn six different combinations: orange over orange under the white helmet, navy head to toe, white helmet and white pants around an orange jersey in Charlotte, navy over white pants for the UVA Strong game, white over navy pants at Florida State, and the white helmet over a navy jersey and white pants against Syracuse. The Charlotte combination is the most interesting of the group because it is the oldest, the look the program wore in its 1980s rise. The road games are settled by ACC rules, so the white jersey is locked in at SMU, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, as it was at Florida State. Everything left to decide happens at Scott Stadium, and the Friday night game against Duke on October 23 is the date to circle. The grid above has every game, and we add the star as each uniform is confirmed.

What are Virginia's football uniforms for 2026?

Three jerseys and two helmets.
