South Carolina Uniform Schedule 2026: Every Jersey and When the Gamecocks Wear It

South Carolina wore garnet jerseys under white helmets for the opener against Kent State, then went black with a one-night Cocky helmet against Towson. Then came Mississippi State at Williams-Brice Stadium on September 19, where the Gamecocks went garnet head to toe. They went all white at Alabama on September 26, wore a white helmet with a black jersey and black pants against Kentucky on October 3, then wore a garnet helmet, garnet jersey and white pants in a 38-19 win at Florida on October 10. This is the full South Carolina 2026 uniform schedule: the garnet, white and black sets from the program's first Nike season, the helmets, and a week-by-week outlook for all twelve games. We update this page as each combination is confirmed.

The South Carolina 2026 Uniform Sets

This is South Carolina's first season with Nike after Under Armour dressed the Gamecocks from 2007 through June 30, 2026, and the athletic department said up front that the changes would be subtle. The stripe pattern and number font carried over almost unchanged. The real differences are in the details: the center stripe on the helmets is thicker, the garnet helmet dropped the small Block C inside a white circle for a large Block C on each side, the SEC patch moved from above the chest wordmark into the collar, and the Block C and maker's logo swapped hips on the pants. The black helmet is the biggest visual change, a gloss finish for the first time since 2004 after most of a decade in matte. Nike has also committed to a full redesign of at least three jerseys by 2030 and an alternate through its program for more than 15 top college football schools, but no 2026 alternate beyond the black set has been shown. SEC home teams usually wear color, so road dates default to white unless the host goes white first.

The Full South Carolina 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week

September 5 vs. Kent State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, garnet jersey, white pants. The helmet carried the Block C with the thicker garnet and black center stripe, and the pants had the matching garnet and black side stripe. It was the first game in Nike gear, a 12:45 p.m. Eastern kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium, and South Carolina won 57-0.

September 12 vs. Towson. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: glossy black helmet with Cocky on both sides, black jersey, white pants. The black jersey carried GAMECOCKS across the chest with garnet and white sleeve stripes. The Cocky decal honored the mascot's induction into the Mascot Hall of Fame, and beat reporter Wes Mitchell reported it was a one-night helmet, not a new piece of the rotation. So the new gloss shell debuted with a logo it will not wear again. South Carolina won 45-9 in the 7 p.m. Eastern kickoff.

September 19 vs. Mississippi State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: garnet helmet, garnet jersey, garnet pants, head to toe garnet for the SEC opener at Williams-Brice. We had garnet down for the jersey and white for the pants, and the Gamecocks went garnet below the belt too. Mississippi State came in with the maroon helmet over a white jersey and white pants, and won 41-34 after South Carolina had led 13-0. More: Mississippi State uniform schedule.

September 26 at Alabama. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, white jersey, white pants, all white at Bryant-Denny Stadium against Alabama in crimson over white pants. LaNorris Sellers hit Nyck Harbor for a 41-yard touchdown and Matt Fuller ran for 112 yards, but Keelon Russell threw four touchdown passes for Alabama, and the Gamecocks lost 49-18 to fall to 2-2. The Tide side is on our Alabama 2026 uniform schedule.

October 3 vs. Kentucky. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white helmet, black jersey, black pants, not the garnet we expected. The jersey reads black against the garnet paint in the Williams-Brice end zones, with black pants underneath. Kentucky wore a chrome helmet with a blue stripe, white jersey and white pants. South Carolina led 17-0 and still led in overtime after LaNorris Sellers hit Maurice Brown II for a 5-yard score, but Kenny Minchey answered with a touchdown pass and a 2-point conversion, and Kentucky won 35-34. The Gamecocks are 2-3.

October 10 at Florida. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: garnet helmet, garnet jersey, white pants. Garnet was expected because Florida's released grid had the Gators in white. Florida wore its retro helmet, a royal blue shell with an orange and white center stripe and the block F inside a white oval, with a white jersey and white pants. Details are on our Florida 2026 uniform schedule. South Carolina led 17-10 at halftime, outscored Florida 21-9 in the second half and won 38-19. The Gamecocks are 3-3.

October 17. Bye.

October 24 vs. Tennessee. Garnet expected. First game back from the bye, and a rivalry date where the black set would make sense if the program wants a night to feel different. The Vols' side is on our Tennessee 2026 uniform schedule.

October 31 at Oklahoma. White expected. Halloween in Norman, with Oklahoma expected in crimson.

November 7 vs. Texas A&M. Garnet expected. Texas A&M should be in white.

November 14 at Arkansas. White expected. Road date in Fayetteville, where the home side wears color.

November 21 vs. Georgia. Garnet expected. The last home game and the biggest home date on the calendar, so this is the one we are watching for an all-black return. Georgia is expected in white.

November 28 at Clemson. White expected. The Palmetto Bowl in Clemson, with the Tigers in orange at home per our Clemson 2026 uniform schedule.

The Bottom Line

Six games into the Nike era, South Carolina has shown six different combinations: the white helmet and garnet jersey for the opener, black jersey and a gloss black Cocky helmet for Towson, all garnet with the new large Block C helmet against Mississippi State, all white at Alabama, a white helmet over black jersey and black pants against Kentucky, and a garnet helmet with a garnet jersey and white pants at Florida. The full all-black set with the gloss black helmet and black pants has not appeared yet, so it is still in play for the SEC schedule. Garnet is the home default, white is the road default, and the trip to Gainesville went garnet because Florida wore white. The grid above has every date, and we star each cell once the uniform is confirmed.

Three jerseys from Nike in the program's first season with the brand: a garnet home jersey, a white road jersey and a black alternate with GAMECOCKS across the chest, all with Northwestern-style sleeve stripes. Pants come in white, garnet and black. The helmets are a white shell with the Block C and a garnet and black center stripe, a garnet shell with a large Block C, and a glossy black shell.

The black set is updated rather than new: the helmet moved from matte to gloss, the first gloss black shell since 2004. The only true one-off so far was the Cocky helmet against Towson for the Mascot Hall of Fame induction. Nike's contract includes an alternate through its program for top college teams, but none has been revealed for 2026.
