Wondering what jersey Baylor is wearing this week? This is the full Baylor 2026 uniform schedule, game by game, and it has one date circled: the gold chrome throwback comes out Saturday, September 26, against Colorado at McLane Stadium for the Traditions Game.

The Throwback Is the Headline
Baylor announced the Colorado set with one word, "Timeless," and it earns it. Green jersey, white pants, and the gold chrome helmet, which is the piece doing all the work.
The details worth knowing:
- A gold chrome shell with a green center stripe flanked by white, and clusters of green stars running along both sides of the stripe.
- The interlocking BU in green with a white outline on the sides, in the old proportions rather than the modern compressed version.
- A green facemask, which is the choice that keeps the helmet from looking like a novelty. Chrome with a chrome mask reads as a costume. Chrome with a color mask reads as a uniform.
- The green jersey with gold-outlined white block numbers and a bear paw on the shoulder where a number usually sits.
- White pants with a green and gold stripe down the leg.

Chrome helmets are Baylor's own history rather than a borrowed trend. The Bears wore gold chrome from 2013 to 2017, the best stretch the program has ever had, and the shell has been back in the rotation since 2025. Pairing it with a throwback jersey instead of the anthracite alternate is the version fans have been asking for.

Our Grade: A+
The helmet and the jersey are both right, which almost never happens on a throwback.
We are not usually a green team. Green is one of the harder colors to make look expensive on a football field and most programs that wear it end up looking like a bowling shirt. The gold chrome helmet on top of the green jersey is the combination that solves it. The metal warms the green up instead of fighting it, and suddenly the whole set looks like money rather than like a color scheme somebody was stuck with.
The stars on the helmet stripe are the detail we keep coming back to. They are small, they are green on gold so they read at distance without shouting, and they give the shell texture that a plain stripe would not. That is a hard thing to pull off on chrome, which usually flattens everything into glare.
White pants under a green jersey is the correct order of operations too. Gold pants would have tipped the whole thing into costume territory. The green facemask does the same job at the other end, keeping a chrome shell from reading as a novelty.
Baylor spends too much of the season in black and anthracite, which any team in the country can wear. This is the one that is only Baylor. It is our favorite college uniform of the offseason.
How Baylor's Uniform Rotation Actually Works
Baylor does not publish a season-long uniform schedule, and under the current staff the Bears have leaned hard into announcing each week's combination a few days out. What is different in 2026 is that fans get a say: the athletic department's "Fan First Pic 'Em" program let fans submit and then vote on the combination for 254 Night against Prairie View A&M.
The reliable rules:
- Home games at McLane: green, white, black or anthracite jerseys, decided week to week.
- Road games: white jerseys, per NCAA visitor rules.
- September 26 vs. Colorado: the confirmed gold chrome throwback.
- September 12 vs. Prairie View A&M: the fan-voted 254 Night combination, built around the green 254 helmet with the area code on the front bumper.
We update this page as each week's combination is announced, so the grid below always reflects the latest confirmed look.
The Full Baylor 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week
Twelve games, six at McLane, a neutral-site opener in Atlanta, and one bye.
September 5 vs. Auburn, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta. A neutral-site opener against an SEC opponent, which is exactly the kind of stage Baylor has used the chrome helmet for before. Combination announced game week.
September 12 vs. Prairie View A&M, Waco. 254 Night, and the one game on this schedule fans helped pick. The green 254 helmet carries the area code on the front bumper.
September 19 vs. Louisiana Tech, Waco. Gold Rush, with fans asked to wear gold. Whether the team follows the stands into gold is the question worth watching.
September 26 vs. Colorado, Waco. The Traditions Game, and the gold chrome throwback debut. The one uniform date on this schedule that is locked.
October 3 at Arizona State, Tempe. White on the road.
October 10. Bye week.
October 17 vs. TCU, Waco. Blackout on the Brazos if it is a night kick, whiteout if it is a day game, which makes this the most likely home date for the anthracite set.
October 24 at Kansas, Lawrence. White.
October 30 at UCF, Orlando. Friday night. White.
November 7 vs. Iowa State, Waco. Homecoming, historically a green-heavy look.
November 14 at BYU, Provo. White.
November 21 vs. Texas Tech, Waco. Salute to Service and Senior Day, opposite Texas Tech in white.
November 28 at Houston, Houston. White, to close the regular season.
