Toledo changed helmets before this season even started, and the rest of the closet is deeper than most people outside the MAC realize. This is the full Toledo 2026 uniform schedule: the midnight blue home jersey, the white road set, the gold and anthracite alternates, the new glossy shell, and a week-by-week outlook for all twelve games, including three weeknight kickoffs and a trip to Sacramento. The Toledo 2026 Uniform Sets

Start with the helmet, because that is the piece that actually changed. Toledo retired its matte midnight blue shell in May and went glossy, keeping the white TOLEDO wordmark with the gold rocket streaking out of it and giving the equipment staff a gold facemask and a blue facemask to choose from. The Rockets posted the new lids from around campus and the Maumee riverfront.

The jerseys are all Nike, and the 2026 update moved the white road jersey onto the same Vapor F.U.S.E. template the midnight blue home, gold alternate and anthracite alternate already used, so every Toledo jersey now carries the same TOLEDO wordmark across the chest. Media day in July gave the clearest look at the two base sets side by side, the blue at home with its gold collar V and the white on the road with gold trim on the numerals.

There is one more thing hanging over the season. September 4 at Michigan State. ★ Confirmed from game photography: midnight blue helmet, white jersey, midnight blue pants, the standard road look under Friday night lights at Spartan Stadium. One calendar note: ESPN files this game under September 5 because its feed runs on UTC and an 8 p.m. Eastern kickoff lands after midnight there. The correct local date is Friday, September 4.

September 12 vs. Central Connecticut. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: midnight blue helmet, midnight blue jersey, gold pants, the classic Glass Bowl combination for a game the school billed as the Biggest Party in Toledo. The Rockets won 63-10.

September 19 vs. Temple. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: midnight blue helmet with the gold facemask, midnight blue jersey, gold pants, the same combination the Rockets wore against Central Connecticut a week earlier. The helmet carries the Glass City bumper. Temple answered in all white. Band Day in the Glass Bowl went to overtime and Toledo won 49-48.

September 26 vs. San Diego State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: midnight blue helmet, midnight blue jersey, gold pants, the same set as the last two home games. San Diego State wore the red helmet, white jersey and white pants. John Alan Richter threw three touchdown passes and Toledo won 41-16 to move to 3-1.

October 3 at Ball State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: midnight blue helmet, white jersey, midnight blue pants, with the gold Toledo script on the helmet and a gold facemask. Ball State wore a white helmet, black jersey and white pants in Muncie. CJ Miller ran for 196 yards and two touchdowns, Connor Walendzak added 103 and a score, and Toledo won the MAC opener 39-24, its fourth straight win, to move to 4-1.

October 10 vs. Buffalo. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: midnight blue jersey, gold pants, the standard home look for Homecoming in the Glass Bowl rather than an alternate. The helmet was not clear in the frames we saw, so we are leaving it off. Buffalo wore all white, white helmet, white jersey and white pants; the Bulls' side is on the Buffalo 2026 uniform schedule. Buffalo led 13-0 at halftime, Toledo's only points came in the fourth quarter, and the Bulls won 23-8. Toledo is 4-2.

October 24 vs. Western Michigan. Blue expected. Toledo lists this as Senior Day, which makes sense once you look at the calendar: it is the last Saturday home game of the season, because everything after it is a weeknight or a Friday.

October 31. Bye. Toledo's only open date of the year, and it lands on Halloween.

November 4 at Sacramento State. White expected. This is the strangest date on any MAC schedule in 2026. Sacramento State joined the conference as a football-only affiliate on July 1 after moving up from the FCS, and Toledo drew the cross-country Wednesday night trip to Hornet Stadium in the national MACtion television window.

November 11 vs. UMass. Blue expected. A Wednesday night Salute to Service game in the Glass Bowl, and military appreciation nights are another place a special uniform or helmet decal can appear.

November 20 vs. Bowling Green. Blue expected. The Battle of I-75 on a Friday night at home, the biggest date on the Toledo calendar and the last home game of the season.

November 27 at Ohio. White expected. A noon kickoff in Athens on Black Friday to close the regular season.

What About the Gold Helmet?

Toledo's gold shell is the one piece of this closet with real history attached, and it usually comes out with the gold or anthracite jerseys rather than on its own. The most famous version was the 2017 MAC Championship Game at Ford Field, when the Rockets announced gold helmets with the midnight blue uniforms the night before kickoff and then won the title.

Nothing like that has been announced for 2026. Through the first five games Toledo wore the midnight blue helmet every time, and at Homecoming on October 10 the Rockets were in the midnight blue jersey and gold pants, though the helmet was not clear in the frames we saw.
