Colorado Uniform Schedule 2026: Every Jersey and When the Buffaloes Wear It

Colorado has worn a black jersey in three of its five 2026 games, including on the road at Georgia Tech, and the gold jersey came out at Baylor, but the closet Deion Sanders showed off in May says the gold-on-gold and gray looks are still to come. This is the full Colorado 2026 uniform schedule: the black home set, the white road set, the gold and gray alternates, the four helmets, and a week-by-week outlook for all twelve games, starting with the Thursday night opener at Georgia Tech and running through Senior Day against UCF. We update this page as each combination is confirmed.

The Colorado 2026 Uniform Sets

The current Nike set debuted in 2024 with black home, white road and gray alternate jerseys, all built around the Flatirons, the jagged sandstone peaks that sit above Boulder. In 2025 the program added the throwback gold jersey and striped gold pants, but wore them on separate dates. In May, Sanders laid six combinations across his office floor overlooking Folsom Field: white-on-white, white-on-gold, gold-on-gold, gray-on-gray, black-on-black Flatirons and the classic black-on-black. Two of those, gold-on-gold and white over striped gold pants, have never been worn in a game, so they are the ones to watch. One more thing to know before reading the grid: Colorado's home game themes (Buffs Wear White, Gold Rush, Buffs Wear Black) are crowd colors, not uniform announcements. The team wore black against Weber State on Buffs Wear White day.

The Full Colorado 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week

September 3 at Georgia Tech. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: black helmet with a chrome gold facemask, black jersey, black pants. The jersey carried a white COLORADO wordmark over metallic gold numerals. Colorado wore black on the road because Georgia Tech opened its Under Armour era in all white for a Whiteout at Bobby Dodd Stadium, so the usual home-dark, road-white split flipped. Colorado won 14-13 after blocking a late Georgia Tech field goal. The Yellow Jackets' side of the night is on our Georgia Tech 2026 uniform schedule. A calendar note: ESPN lists this game under September 4 because its feed runs on UTC. It kicked off at 8 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, September 3.

September 12 vs. Weber State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: black helmet with the gold buffalo, classic black jersey with gold and white sleeve stripes and white numerals, white pants. The home opener at Folsom Field was billed as Buffs Wear White, but that theme was for the crowd, not the team. Colorado won 52-21.

September 19 at Northwestern. ★ Confirmed: white helmet with the gold interlocking CU and the gold facemask, white jersey with COLORADO across the chest in gold, white pants, white socks. A full road whiteout, and it took until Sunday to see it, because the FOX broadcast fed ESPN nothing and the confirmation came from Northwestern's own game photography instead. The Buffaloes lost 41-7 at Martin Stadium, Northwestern's temporary lakefront venue in Evanston.

September 26 at Baylor. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: black helmet, gold jersey, black pants, not the white we expected. Big 12 opener at McLane Stadium in Waco, and Baylor wore its gold chrome throwback with a green jersey and white pants, so neither team was in a white jersey. Baylor won 23-13 and Colorado is 2-2. The Bears' side is on our Baylor 2026 uniform schedule.

October 3 vs. Texas Tech. ★ Confirmed from the game photos: gold helmet, black jersey, gold pants for Homecoming and the university's 150th anniversary celebration. It was not the gold-on-gold look we were watching for, but the gold pants under the black jersey brought plenty of gold to the stripe-out. Texas Tech wore the red helmet, white jersey and red pants that had been reported. Texas Tech won 29-7, and Colorado fell to 2-3. See the Texas Tech 2026 uniform schedule for the visitors.

October 10. Bye.

October 17 vs. Utah. Black expected. Family Weekend and the Gold Rush crowd theme. The gold jersey debuted against Utah last season, which makes this another strong candidate for gold.

October 24 at Oklahoma State. White expected. A trip to Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, where the Cowboys usually wear orange or black at home. More on our Oklahoma State 2026 uniform schedule.

October 31 vs. Kansas State. Black expected. Halloween in Boulder, with Military Appreciation and the CU Hall of Fame celebration on the same day.

November 7 at Arizona State. White expected. Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, the same opponent that saw the striped gold pants for the first time last November. Sun Devils details are on the Arizona State 2026 uniform schedule.

November 13 vs. Houston. Black expected. A Friday night game on ESPN, 8:15 p.m. Mountain, with the Buffs Wear Black crowd theme and a halftime drone show. An all-black Colorado under the lights would match the stands. ESPN lists this one under November 14 because of UTC.

November 21 at Cincinnati. White expected. Nippert Stadium, where the Bearcats wear red or black at home.

November 28 vs. UCF. Black expected. Senior Day, Fan Appreciation Day, and the regular season finale at Folsom Field.

The Bottom Line

Five games in, Colorado is 2-3 and has worn a black jersey three times, all white at Northwestern and the gold jersey at Baylor, and the only reason it wore black on the road was Georgia Tech's Whiteout. From here the Big 12 script points to black at Folsom Field and white on the road. The open questions are gold-on-gold and gray. Sanders put gold-on-gold and white over striped gold pants on his office floor in May, and neither has been worn in a game yet. Homecoming against Texas Tech brought gold pants under the black jersey instead, so the Gold Rush game against Utah on October 17 is the likeliest home for gold-on-gold. The grid above has every date, and we star each cell as the uniform is confirmed.

What are Colorado's football uniforms for 2026?

Colorado wears Nike. The set includes black home jerseys in two styles (the Flatirons design and a classic version with gold and white sleeve stripes), white road jerseys with either a metallic gold or black wordmark, a gray alternate, and a throwback-inspired gold jersey with striped gold pants. Helmets come in gold, matte black, glossy black and matte white, with black, gold and white facemasks.

Does Colorado have a new alternate uniform in 2026?

No brand new jersey has been announced. Instead, Deion Sanders previewed new combinations in May, including gold-on-gold and white jerseys over striped gold pants, two looks Colorado has never worn in a game. The gold jersey and gold pants both date to 2025. We will add any new piece to this page if it is revealed.

Why did Colorado wear black at Georgia Tech?

Georgia Tech held a Whiteout for its September 3 opener and wore all white at home, so Colorado, the visitor, wore black: black helmet with a chrome gold facemask, black jersey with metallic gold numerals, and black pants. Colorado won 14-13.

What did Colorado wear against Weber State?

Colorado wore the black helmet with the gold buffalo, the classic black jersey with gold and white sleeve stripes, and white pants in a 52-21 win at Folsom Field on September 12. The game was promoted as Buffs Wear White, but that referred to the fans, not the team.

Are Colorado's home game themes uniform announcements?

No. Buffs Wear White, the Texas Tech stripe-out, Gold Rush and Buffs Wear Black tell fans what to wear in the stands. They do not set the team's uniform, as the black jerseys on Buffs Wear White day showed.
