Liberty owns one of the deepest closets in Conference USA and is not shy about opening it. Four jersey colors, four helmet shells, and a habit of building a new look for a specific Saturday. This is the full Liberty 2026 uniform schedule: the red home set, the white road set, the navy and black alternates, the custom helmets, and a week by week outlook for all twelve games in Jamey Chadwell's fourth season. We update this page as each combination is confirmed.
The Liberty 2026 Uniform Sets
The current design language dates to the summer of 2024, when Liberty rolled out a full Nike rebuild of the set and the reaction was immediate.
A year later the program added navy as a real jersey color rather than a trim accent, which is what turned a two color wardrobe into a four color one.
Like James Madison and most of college football, Liberty announces its combinations with colored circles and nothing else. Here is the navy jersey over white pants from last November.
The default helmet is still the red shell with the white Flames script on the side and a white center stripe, and that is what the Flames have worn in both games this season. Conference USA home teams wear color and visitors wear white, so every road date on the grid below points to the white jersey and every home date is a question of which of the three dark jerseys gets the call.
The Full Liberty 2026 Uniform Schedule, Week by Week
September 5 at James Madison. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: red helmet, white jersey, navy pants, the standard road look for the second Battle of the Blue Ridge, the rivalry series the two Virginia programs formally created in 2025 with ten games scheduled through 2040. Liberty lost 20-13 at Bridgeforth Stadium. James Madison was in the gold helmet, purple jersey and white pants.
September 12 vs. Gardner-Webb. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: red helmet, red jersey, red pants, all red head to toe for the home opener at Williams Stadium, and Liberty needed every bit of it to get out with a 24-23 win. One scheduling note worth keeping straight if you look this game up later: the kickoff moved to noon during the week.
September 19 vs. Ball State. Red expected. Family Weekend and College for a Weekend at Williams Stadium, 4 p.m. Eastern, and the last non-conference home game of the year.
September 24 at Coastal Carolina. White expected. A Thursday night in Conway at 7:30 p.m. Eastern against a teal home side, which is the most striking color clash Liberty gets all season.
October 2 at Delaware. White expected. Friday night at Delaware Stadium, 7 p.m. Eastern, and the Conference USA opener.
October 8 vs. Sam Houston. Red expected. Liberty brands this one Midweek on the Mountain, a Thursday night at 7 p.m. Eastern, and the themed midweek games are exactly where an alternate tends to appear.
October 17. Bye.
October 22 at Kennesaw State. White expected. Another Thursday, 7 p.m. Eastern, at Fifth Third Stadium.
October 31 vs. FIU. Red expected, and this is the obvious blackout candidate. It is Homecoming and Hall of Fame Weekend, it is Halloween, and Liberty already owns a full black helmet, jersey and pants set that it wore against James Madison in 2025. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
November 7 at New Mexico State. White expected. The longest trip on the schedule, 5 p.m. Eastern in Las Cruces.
November 14 vs. Middle Tennessee. Red expected, but watch this one. Liberty has Military Appreciation Day on this date, and Military Appreciation is the game where the program has built one off helmets in the past, including the custom shell honoring the Bedford Boys in November 2024.
Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. Eastern. If there is one new piece of equipment on this schedule, our money is on this Saturday.
November 21 vs. Western Kentucky. Red expected. Senior Day and Employee Appreciation Day at Williams Stadium, 1 p.m. Eastern, and the final home game of the season.
November 28 at Missouri State. White expected. Regular season finale in Springfield at 2 p.m. Eastern. Liberty's own schedule page still carries a December 4 placeholder for the Conference USA Championship Game, which tells you what the program is playing for.
The Bottom Line
Liberty has the jerseys to do almost anything and the willingness to use them, which is what makes this schedule fun to track. Red is the default at home and the Flames have already worn it head to toe once, white is locked in for all six road games by conference rule, and navy and black are the two levers Chadwell can pull when a Saturday needs to feel different. Halloween against FIU and Military Appreciation Day against Middle Tennessee are the two dates we would circle. The grid above has every game, and we add the stars as each uniform is confirmed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What jersey is Liberty wearing this week?
Liberty hosts Ball State on Saturday, September 19, at 4 p.m. Eastern, and as the home team the Flames are expected in red. The last confirmed combination was the all red look, red helmet with red jersey and red pants, against Gardner-Webb on September 12. The grid above lists every game with the expected set, and we update it as combinations are confirmed.
What are Liberty's football uniforms for 2026?
Four jerseys from Nike: red, white, navy and black. The red home jersey uses white numerals, the white road jersey uses red numerals with navy trim, the navy set was added for the 2025 season, and the black set is the full blackout with red trim. Helmets come in red with the white Flames script, navy, black and white, and the red shell is the default.
What did Liberty wear against James Madison and Gardner-Webb?
At James Madison on September 5, Liberty wore the red helmet, white jersey and navy pants in a 20-13 loss. Against Gardner-Webb on September 12 the Flames went all red, red helmet with red jersey and red pants, and won 24-23.
Does Liberty have a new alternate uniform in 2026?
Nothing new has been announced. The navy set arrived for 2025 and the black set has been in the rotation longer than that, so the wardrobe is already deep. The dates to watch for something custom are Halloween against FIU on October 31 and Military Appreciation Day against Middle Tennessee on November 14, which is where Liberty has built one off helmets before.
What is the Battle of the Blue Ridge?
It is the football rivalry series Liberty and James Madison formally created in 2025, with ten games scheduled between the 2025 and 2040 seasons. The Flames have lost both meetings so far, 31-13 in Lynchburg in 2025 and 20-13 in Harrisonburg to open 2026.
How many games does Liberty play in 2026?
Twelve regular season games: six at Williams Stadium against Gardner-Webb, Ball State, Sam Houston, FIU, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky, and six on the road at James Madison, Coastal Carolina, Delaware, Kennesaw State, New Mexico State and Missouri State, with a bye on October 17. The full schedule with every expected uniform is in the grid above.
