The Nebraska 2026 Uniform Sets

Everything on the base sets is new this year. Nebraska and adidas revealed the "A New Dawn" redesign on June 20, and the headline is the number font, built from the digits stamped on a steel anvil with interior lines that mimic crop rows. The stripes that used to sit on the sleeves moved up to the shoulders, the TV numbers dropped down to the sleeves, and a Stick N now sits on the right hip. The one thing adidas did not touch is the helmet, and in its first two games this season it also carried a small American flag decal with the red, white and blue 250 mark for the nation's 250th anniversary.

The black alternate is where 2026 gets interesting. Nebraska Athletics unveiled it on August 15 under the theme "Our Red Burns Brighter," inspired by the Memorial Stadium light show, the end-zone fire towers and the red fireworks over the north scoreboard. It is a clear step past last year's Blackout look, which kept the white helmet. This one goes black on the shell and swaps the Block N for the Huskers script, one of the rare times since 1970 that Nebraska has taken the N off the helmet. September 19 vs. North Dakota. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white Block N helmet, scarlet jersey, white pants, the home default for the Ag Day game against the FCS Fighting Hawks, and the same combination for a third straight week. Nothing special was announced for the night and nothing new appeared. North Dakota came in white over green, and Nebraska won 34-7.

September 26 at Michigan State. ★ Confirmed from the broadcast: white Block N helmet, white jersey, scarlet pants, the first look at the new white road set in a game, with scarlet numerals and scarlet shoulder stripes on the jersey. Michigan State wore all green. Anthony Colandrea threw touchdown passes of 44 yards to Kwazi Gilmer and 13 yards to Vincent Genatone, Genatone added a one-yard run in the fourth quarter, and Nebraska won the Big Ten opener 31-13 to move to 4-0.

October 3 vs. Maryland. ★ Confirmed from the game photos: white helmet, scarlet jersey, white pants, the home set. Maryland wore the red helmet with the Terps script, white jersey and red pants.
